During my adventure in Egpyt, I learned to be more body conscious.
The temperatures can soar up to 115 degrees by 1-2pm. Well, the day I visited Karnak temple which by the way was a huge religious maze, which was constructed over a period of 2000 years to build!! It was a major religious center dedicated to the Theban Triad of gods, Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. The complex was known as "Ipet-isut," meaning "The Most Selected of Places" in ancient Egyptian.
At the end of this visit our driver brought us to a hotel for late lunch and I couldn't stomach anything as a sip of water caused my stomach to feel a wretching pain. I was n getting nauseated, slight headache with diarrhea. I knew I caught a slight heat stroke and infection. When we got back to our air bnb i immediately removed my clothing and took a long cool shower. Then I die to our host, Mahamed and he bought my medicine.
But during these 7 days of clean diet. My stomach was my alarm ⏰️, constantly reminding me to watch what I eat, eat slower, chew longer, including drinking temperature water, nothing cold!! Most of my meals was rice.
I know how we like to explore and try different cuisine but sometimes it's not suitable for our body. Listen to your body.. make sure your hands are clean, definitely bring hand wipes!!
So I'm back in nyc, healing my gut. My first meal was plain congee.. 2nd day we had dim sum for lunch and congee with 1000 year old egg for dinner with veggies.
How do you know when your stomach is healing? Look at the color and texture of your stools..
