Norva earned her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the renowned Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York City.

Norva Bennett is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of New York and a national certified diplomat in Oriental Medicine (which includes acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine) from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medi This program consisted of over 4,050 hours of a combination of classroom time and supervised clinical time. While at PCOM, she had the opportunity to work in the neurology department at the Veteran’s Hospital, St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, and The Grand Meridian Clinic in Chinatown. Norva has continued her study of Advanced Chinese Pulse Diagnosis, Inner Tradition of Chinese medicine, Medicine Without Form, and Chinese herbal medicine with Lonny Jarret and Thea Elijah. She has also received her certifications in Neurofunctional Electrical Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation. Norva is dedicated to the community in which she lives. Once a month she volunteers her time at a Brooklyn community-based clinic which provides acupuncture, bodywork, and reiki to medically underserved patients. A community coming together is stronger than the individual. Together we can inspire a generation to make life changes and improve the quality of life.

Family comes in many forms. There are the Partners, Siblings, Parents……
Yet not all families look the same. I am blessed to have amazing chosen family. These are a few of my family members and i’m blessed to have even more. I use to get stuck thinking things were suppose look a certain way. Somehow over the years i have built an amazing family rich in love and deeply bonded. Look up at what you have instead of looking the wrong way at what you dont.

Even flowers rest.
We push ourselves nonstop — phones buzzing, emails piling up, always “on.”

But here’s the same flower: on the left, after sunset; on the right, greeting the morning light.
Nature knows to pause. To conserve. To rest.
With all our complex minds and bodies, how is it that we’ve forgotten to do the same?

Today is the spring equinox, which means today is the one day where day and night are completely in balance. Rebirth and renewal are on the way as we start to plant the seeds in our gardens. I went to bed excited about surfing and woke up anxious. Anxiety is a funny feeling, its unknown, like a flicker of uncomfortableness. May even make you a little grumpy within that uncomfort. stay curious, try not to attach it to something. After support from the fabulous , getting out in the water dissolved it all. we are have these moments and support is all around.

Self care is so important, recently i was asked how do I navigate through stresses and the worries life brings. I have many tools in my box, self care is one of them. Knowing when to say no and instead taking a day of self care.

Why did i cut my hair off has become the question of the day. Our identity is how we not only see ourselves but also how we choose to present ourselves to the world. Commonly clients want to change how they experience the world, have better mental health. Doing something like cutting one’s hair, changing your style, even getting out on a different side of the bed can actually be a part of this.
