This past Thursday I was invited to provide a keynote presentation on the topic of Feng Shui for MAX - Surgical Specialty Management's networking event at Buddakan in New York City. Those in attendance were Oral Surgeons based out of the NYC.
During the talk I covered a few great go-to Feng Shui tips that every surgeon could implement within their office's. Yet, the biggest topic of discussion was how surgeons could keep their own personal energy clear after working with various patients and not feel drained by the end of the day. This led us into the discussion of rituals and how they help reset the energy of the space and themselves. Speaking in more psychological terms, that act of participating in a ritual helps to create predictable patterns that reduce stress and anxiety, which helps to enhance a sense of control. This allowed us to extended our discussion into the world of sound healing, demonstrating easy to use sound healing tools that could be concealed within their office and used after meeting with each patient or at the end of the day to clear and reset the energy of their space in a very simple, yet effective way. In all, it becomes a benefit to everyone.
We also spoke about the importance of self care, the benefits of moving the body (i.e tai chi/Qi gong), charka clearings, meditation, and more.
