ArchCare recently celebrated Pastoral Care Week, honoring the chaplains, volunteers, and spiritual caregivers who bring comfort, prayer, and connection to those we serve.

To highlight this important ministry across our system, ArchCare communities marked the week with meaningful moments of gratitude and celebration. At TCC, residents and care members enjoyed ice cream while Sing-Along Volunteers from the Order of Malta lifted spirits with music. Pastoral Care volunteers at San Vicente de Paúl also received gift bags and were celebrated during a special Mass dedicated to their ministry of compassion and presence. Celebrations and recognition of our pastoral care volunteers and members were also held at Ferncliff, Mary Manning Walsh, Eger, Calvary, Carmel Richmond, and Providence Rest. Pastoral Care Week informational, blessing, and recognition materials were displayed and distributed at all of these sites and our PACE centers. Pastoral Care volunteers for all ArchCare centers—and at many hospitals throughout the Archdiocese—were also honored with letters of gratitude from Bishop Ed Whalen.

Thank you to everyone who supports and uplifts the work of our Pastoral Care teams; you remind us that healing is not only physical but spiritual as well.

Our prayers are with all who are suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, especially those in Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos.

We hold our Care Members and their families from these regions close in prayer, and ArchCare is actively working on ways our community can help support those affected by this devastating storm.

May God’s compassion bring healing and hope to all who are impacted.

Sunshine, good food, and great company at Mary Manning Walsh’s Care Member Barbecue Party! ☀️🍔

It was a special day to celebrate the incredible care members who bring compassion, dedication, and joy to our residents and patients every single day. Their kindness is at the heart of everything we do at ArchCare—and this celebration was one small way to say thank you. 💙

Did you know?

Participants in PACE experience better health outcomes and more independence compared to traditional care models, like having less than one ER visit per member per year.

PACE combines all-inclusive home and community-based services, and whole-person care coordination—helping older adults stay safe, healthy, and connected to the life they love.

Behind the scenes at the ArchCare Senior Life PACE Harlem Center photoshoot! 🎬✨

Residents had a great time stepping into the spotlight, enjoying popcorn at the theater, fresh trims at the barber shop, visits to the library and shopping other storefront spaces that make this “neighborhood” model so unique.

Their excitement and smiles capture exactly what this new center is all about—community, connection, and joy in everyday life. 💙

His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, visited ArchCare last week for a special tour of the Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital and the new ArchCare Senior Life PACE Harlem Center.

Following the tour, Cardinal Dolan celebrated Mass in the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center auditorium, joined by residents and care members in a meaningful time of prayer and community.

We are grateful for his continued support, leadership, and blessing over ArchCare’s mission to provide compassionate, faith-driven care to those we serve.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and across ArchCare communities, residents and care members came together to honor, remember, and celebrate those impacted by breast cancer. 💗

From pink ribbon parties at San Vicente de Paúl to warm tributes at Carmel Richmond, and the annual Providence Rest Breast Cancer Walk, our teams showed their support in full color, wearing pink, sharing stories, and serving sweet treats like pink cookies and lemonade. 💕

Together, we stand for hope, strength, and awareness—because every ribbon represents a life, a memory, and a reason to keep fighting.
