Cute meditation retreat story coming up:
Meet Coran (right) and Claudia (left) two participants at one of our recent meditation retreats in the Blue Mountains.
These two, despite sharing the same quite unique surname, had never met each other before the weekend began. Here’s what transpired by day 3 of our time together:
First up, they were almost assigned the same bedroom, thanks to the innocent assumption that, because they both are names Lill, they must be husband and wife 🤭.
In fact, not only they’d never met, they never had even heard of each other. What followed was the discovery of an extraordinary family connection.
🌿 Claudia’s grandfather and Coran’s great-grandfather were the same person.
🌿 Their grandfathers ran the Lill family farm near Christchurch, NZ, together in partnership.
🌿 As children, Claudia’s father and Coran’s father lived together in the Lill homestead — and they remained in touch.
And then came the brooch!
Claudia’s mother had been wondering who should inherit a special family heirloom, a brooch traditionally passed to the wife of the oldest male Lill. After some detective work, it became clear that Coran’s mother is that person.
Claudia will transfer the brooch to Coran’s mother when she visits Sydney next month.
So meditation is renown for connecting us to ourselves … but in this case the connection went in ways one could never anticipate!
