Today is World AIDS Day! This annual event serves as a reminder of the global struggle to end HIV-related stigma, an opportunity to honor those we have lost, and a rallying cry to commit to working toward a day when HIV is no longer a public health threat.

Last week, Alliance was proud to host harm reduction experts from the City of Newcastle, U.K., and Newcastle Treatment and Recovery. Rachael Hope, Zoe Champion, and Thomas Vardy joined us on outreach, in the syringe exchange, speaking with participants in our groups, and in meetings with public health experts across NYC!

April 10 is National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness about the impact of HIV on young people. Together, we can help young people stay healthy by encouraging HIV testing, prevention, and treatment.

Today, for Black AIDS Awareness Day, we’re hosting a slate of events at Midtown Central from 11:00am-2:30pm. The events will begin with a webinar titled “How the History of Medical Distrust from Black People with HIV Affects Acceptance of New Healthcare Developments” and then a Presentation “Elite Choice: Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program” followed by a fun game of Jeopardy, with fresh lunch served, and incentives given out!
