As the holiday season approaches, we’re reminded of the warmth, generosity, and togetherness that make this time of year so special. It’s also a chance to bring joy and hope to children in our community.

This year, the Department of Surgery is proud to support Toys for Tots, helping ensure every child feels celebrated during the holidays.

✨ We’ve already collected 165 donations—thank you to everyone who has given! Your kindness is making a difference.

Our goal is 300 toys, and every contribution counts. If you’re planning to donate, please remember the cutoff date is December 10, 2025.

You can drop off new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages or order online and have them shipped directly to our campus. https://ow.ly/KvEh50XBX4p

Let’s make this season brighter for every child! 💝

🧬 Weill Cornell Medicine joins forces in a major NIH-funded initiative to advance diabetes research!

We’re proud to share that Dr. Shuibing Chen, Kilts Family Professor of Surgery and Director of the Center for Genomic Health, will co-lead the newly expanded New York Regional Diabetes Research Center (NYR-DRC) alongside colleagues from Einstein and Mount Sinai.

Dr. Chen’s pioneering work in human organoid and stem cell platforms will play a key role in uncovering disease mechanisms and accelerating therapeutic discovery.
