Heather Hurley-Cook,PT founded Confident Kidz to address the community's needs in providing structured and skilled therapy in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Some kids do not meet the criteria required to receive therapy and some children require a little bit more than what is offered. In addition, Heather has been trained in Child Light Yoga and now offers yoga classes for kids. Today's children are over-scheduled and overstressed. Yoga offers them strategies to become active participants in their daily lives. Heather Hurley-Cook,PT received her Master's of Physical Therapy degree from Neumann College. She has also received yoga training for special needs children. Heather Hurley-Cook has been a physical therapist since 2002 and has been working exclusively with children since 2004 in the preschool and home settings. She founded Confident Kidz in part to continue working with children through movement-tailored classes and to offer a little extra support to the community. Confident Kidz' small group setting allows us to tailor the movement class to reach each individual child. Each child should be given the opportunity to move, explore and engage in his or her surroundings with little to no limitations. Confident Kidz' programs works to overcome those obstacles while still maintaining the playfulness that kids enjoy.

Confident Kidz at The Kidz Lounge is seeking maternity leave coverage for our current OT starting mid/late November through January. 20-25 hours a week in our center in Howard Beach. Potential to stay on after coverage ends. Must be available during the school day 9:00-2:00 with some flexibility.
