The men and women of the Israel Defense Forces serve their country with courage. As well, we owe much to the courageous Israelis who, by living in Israel, secure this tiny land for all Jews. How much more so then for those who have been seriously injured in acts of terror. Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans (FIDV) and Beit Halochem are committed to caring for Israeli servicemen and women disabled

in the line of duty, as well as caring for those whose lives are shattered by terror. Beit Halochem centers provide therapeutic, sports and recreational facilities to help them resume lives of purpose and dignity.

Israel is at War

Since the early hours of the morning Israel has been under a heinous attack by the Hamas from Gaza. As Hamas terrorists crossed over into Israel and infiltrated several Moshavim and Kibbutzim along the Gaza perimeter, the IDF forces have been carrying out a house to house and often face to face, one on one battle with the terrorists in an attempt to save the lives of the thousands of Israelis who have found themselves, once again, waking up on a holiday morining, running for shelter.

Stories of bravery are flooding the media as fathers hid their wives and children in rooms while they drew their weapons and faced the terrorists who systematically went from one home to the next. Official reports confirm there are over 550 civilians and soldiers wounded and at least 22 killed.

As the IDF continues to retaliate and reach all the conflicted areas, the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization has been in close contact with the Rehabilitation Division of the Ministry of Defense and are keeping each other updated on the status of our thousands of members.

Until further notice, the Beit Halochem Centers will remain closed.

Ministry of Defense have expanded the special hotline for emotional distress and trauma and our organizational digital channels are being updated continuously.

Our hearts go out to our friends and relatives in the south of Israel as well as to many of our family and friends who have been called up to the reserves. We pray that they return home safely.

We will be prepared to reach out to all those wounded who will unfortunately, be joining our ranks and call upon all our friends and supporters the world over to stand by them in this difficult hour of need.

For the first time an Israeli team will participate in the Invictus Games!

This coming September, for the first time, a team of Zahal Disabled Veterans, representing the State of Israel will take part in the 2023 Dusseldorf Invictus Games in Germany. The games were founded by Prince Harry in 2014 for war-wounded veterans of the military and the security forces, with an aim to help their rehabilitation through sports. The emphasis in the games is not only about winning medals, it is a lot more about the road traveled until reaching the victory of the spirit over the body. This year the games are held in Germany and the contestants will compete in ten different branches. The 20 member Israeli delegation will compete in Table Tennis, Swimming, Cycling and Archery.

Boeing is the official sponsor of the Invictus Games. On a recent visit to Israel, Dr. Brendan Nelson, President of Boeing Global, met with Adv. Edan Kleiman, Chairman of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization, together with Major General (res.) Ido Nehushtan, President of Boeing Israel and representatives of the Israel Team to the Invictus Games, Boaz Tabib and Assa Ender.
