Bloodline Dance Theatre Co.

Bloodline Dance Theatre Co. Formerly known as Fierce Roots, Bloodline Dance Theater was created by Lamont Joseph as an arts collective for emerging Choreographers in New York City.

The company is comprised of several choreographers and over 20 dancers ranging from beginner to professional. The company focuses on creating ballets that are reflective of the modern issues as well as historical and religious concepts. To date, the company has performed for several NYC public schools , West Indian American Carnival Association, The Brooklyn Museum, The African Spirt Awards , St

Paul's Baptist Church, The Thelma Hill performing arts center and countless performances at Medgar Evers College.

Bloodline Dance Theatre presents “Theories and Apologies,” a performance that addresses the early stages of the HIV epidemic and current issues in HIV prevention through dance and movement.

The event will be sponsored by the office of Assembly member and organizations such as IWILLGRADUATE and various community leaders. The event will be hosted by the district leader Sarana Purcell of the 43rd district, and will feature the choreography of Founder and Co- Artistic Director of Bloodline Dance Theatre, Lamont Joseph as well as special guest performers Jahlisa Ross Sundari the Indian Goddess Afrosephone Applegate Detoxx Busti-Ae Alicia Kelly King Kayak & Kayak Kru Harmony Music Makers Devor Dance Center and Taylor Lovett Dance Academy .

Please note that the commemoration event will take place at the Betty Carter Auditorium for the Performing Arts in the Major R. Owens Health and Wellness Community Center.
