𝟓𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐮

This is a 50th birthday poem, a tribute to you,
To honor the wisdom and care shining through.
You guide us to master the mind with insight,
Illuminating each step with compassion and light.
I’ve always flourished through teachings delivered with love,
Your voice still reminds me to rise high above—
Above the three modes, this material snare,
With humility, joy, kindness and serenity rare.
You remind me I’m spirit, eternal, divine,
Not merely this body, but consciousness’ shine.
Through transcendental knowledge you lovingly bestow,
My heart, soul, and being in radiance glow.
From your teachings, I’ve learned the Lord dwells in the heart,
Through the sutras, the Gita, the Bhāgavatam’s art.
We walk this path of goodness, learning anew,
And taste its sweet richness through guidance from you.
I strive on this path as steadily as I can,
Inspired by Krishna, Arjuna, their clan.
By Bhima, Yudhishthira, Queen Kunti and stories of old,
Through your gentle wisdom, their truths are retold.
There’s much to remember, not easy to do,
Yet blessed are we learning from Yogi Charu.
Margaret led me to sangha so dear,
For that gift of grace, my thanks is sincere.
This world is impermanent, fleeting, unsure—
The only thing promised at birth is death’s door.
The banyan tree whispers of life’s fleeting dance,
Its lessons remind us to twirl while there’s chance.
Our joys are but passing and sorrows the same,
All moments are brief in this worldly game.
Yet still we keep learning, we smile and we grow,
Through your steady guidance, the truth we now know.
So on this milestone, we honor your care,
Your wisdom, your kindness, the love that you share.
For fifty bright years your spirit shines true,
And we are forever grateful for you.
May Krishna protect you and keep you in grace,
May love and compassion light up your face.
May peace be your anchor, your heart ever free,
A guide and a blessing for all yet to be.
