Dr. Candela Bonaccorso Dr. Bonaccorso (she/her) offers psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to adults in English and Spanish.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish), licensed psychologist and psychoanalyst with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I offer individual therapy to adults of all ages by Grand Central Station in Manhattan. I specialize in the following issues:

-Low self-esteem, dissatisfaction with life, lonelinessDifficulty with relationships or conflicts at work or with friends
-Problems with life

transitions or events (for example, breakups, relationship conflicts, loss)
-Difficulty achieving desired objectives (for example, finishing school), underperforming
-Problems being assertive (either being too passive or too aggressive)
-Adjusting to physical illness or loss
-Issues pertaining to culture, immigration, and otherness

I have specialized training in working with survivors of trauma, in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, and in relational psychodynamic psychotherapy. My approach is psychodynamic and interpersonal, which focuses on the highly individualized treatment of the whole person, and which is not just symptom-focused. I work with my clients towards reaching a deeper understanding of what may be causing difficulties. This tends to reduce nervousness and sadness and tends to result in long-term relief.
