Columbia Trauma and PTSD Program

Our team of dedicated research scientists and experienced clinicians uphold our mission by:

1.) Conducting clinical and biological studies to improve the effects of new treatments for individuals with PTSD.

2.) Advancing the study of individual and group response to extreme traumatic events, including disasters, terrorism, political violence and war.

3.) Fostering state-of-the-art research of the biological and psychological underpinnings of trauma-related disorders and resilience. The Columbia Veterans Center is a part of the Columbia University PTSD Research and Treatment Program. Our department has built a reputation for excellence stemming from its longtime role as a leader of research and care related to PTSD and other mental health challenges. At the Columbia Veterans Center, we are proud to offer evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress, depression, and other mental health needs encountered by veterans and their families. Services are offered to all individuals a veteran might consider family, including significant others, parents, grandparents, children, siblings, and anyone else who plays a significant role in a veteran’s life. All services are free of charge and transportation assistance is available.
