The Amazing Differences of Philosophy Towards Healing between Western and Eastern Medicine:

Dumisani Kambi Shamba lays out a very profound approach to the 2000 years approach of Eastern medicine to the anatomy of the body. He describes how western medicine negates factors in the energetic and spiritual components that are necessary for true healing to take place. His insight on what's really going on with the African American community in the relationship between high blood pressure and diabetes is eye-opening.

I have always had good results with Vitamin C- so 5K daily and boost if I suspect contact.
A strong Probiotic, Vitamin D, DHEA, NAC and a good Omega 3,6.
Been fasting 24-72 hours to reset immunity and I’m in a trial to see how caloric reduction affects me. I’ve been strict with my diet almost nothing processed. Garlic, onions and ginger almost daily.
I use Zinc lozenges , Elderberry/ Rum, garlic/vodka cocktail if I suspect I’ve been exposed or feel untoward in any way.

金木水火土The 5 Elements which refer to wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are grounded in a notion of balance and harmony. They are continually evolving and changing within you, and some elements become stronger and more dominant at different stages in life. Each element has unique characteristics and is associated with season, weather, flavor, color, personality type, and symptoms/disease states.

🐝Spring has Sprung!

Coming out of the cold damp weather and transitioning into Spring, combined with warding off a respiratory pandemic, we find ourselves more heightened and enthused about our health and all factors affecting our immune systems. More importantly, we are extra curious about our body’s virus fighting capabilities and what we can do to maintain optimal health. So, on that note: Spring has sprung to the rescue! Spring is the ideal time for rejuvenation and clearing the liver for overall health and well being.

The fundamental principles upon which Traditional Chinese Medicine is based are:

- The Five Elements which refer to wood, fire, earth, metal, and water and grounded in a notion of balance and harmony.

- Yin and Yang, which describes the interdependent relationship of opposing but complementary forces believed to be necessary for a healthy life.

- Qi (Chi) meaning "life force" or "energy," is an invisible energy force that flows freely in a healthy person. The goal is to maintain a balance of yin and yang in all things.

According to these principles, all change — in the universe and in your body — occurs in five distinct stages. Each stage is associated with a particular time of year, a specific element in nature, and a pair of organs in the body. Change links together the seasons of the year, aspects of nature, and your body’s organs and bodily processes. A practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine uses these principles to diagnose and treat health problems, linking specific foods, herbs, and acupuncture points to balance and restore yin and yang.

Spring for instance corresponds to the "Wood" element, which is related to the liver and gallbladder organs. The liver is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body, and has an incredible capacity for regeneration. When the liver functions smoothly, physical and emotional activity throughout the body also runs smoothly. These two organs are usually the primary targets for springtime clearing of the liver.

Clearing of the liver is not to be confused with 'cleansing or flushing', a liver naturopathic method used by western medicine. Clearing involves using Chinese medicinal formulas for the preventive treatment of liver disease during Spring and provide preventive therapy based on The Five Phase Theory.

🥗Eat to Live!

There is a fundamental difference in the Western and Chinese diet. The Chinese diet incorporates an understanding of the flavors, energies and organic actions of foods and herbs to balance the functioning of the organs in the body and maintain optimal health. In a Western diet, foods are considered for calorie, protein, carbohydrate, vitamin and nutrient content and weight maintenance.

A very clean diet, customized to your constitution (body type), which includes supportive supplements, tinctures and teas is highly recommended. An appropriate diet is more rewarding than any medicine, and without any side effects.

Eat Green - Green is the color of the liver and of springtime. Eating young plants - fresh, leafy greens, sprouts, and immature cereal grasses can improve the overall function of the liver and aid in the movement of Qi.

Taste Sour - Foods and drinks with sour tastes are thought to stimulate the liver's Qi. Put lemon slices in your drinking water, use vinegar and olive oil for your salad dressing. Garnish your sandwich with a slice of dill pickle.

🤸🏾‍♂️ Put Some Spring into Your Step!

Stretch - The liver controls the tendons. According to Chinese medicine, the liver stores blood during periods of rest, then releases it to the tendons in times of activity, maintaining tendon health and flexibility. Incorporate a morning stretch into your routine. We suggest that you practice yoga or qi gong.

Eye Exercises - The liver opens into the eyes. Although all the organs have some connection to the health of the eyes, the liver is connected to proper eye function. Remember to take breaks when looking at a computer monitor for extended periods of time and do eye exercises.

Engage in more outdoor activities - Outside air helps liver Qi flow. If you have been feeling irritable, find an outdoor activity to smooth out that liver Qi stagnation. Try hiking or golf.

If not cared for, the liver can become easily stagnated, negatively impacting the entire digestive system. Take the time to align your vision (liver) and execute (gallbladder) that vision: Eat green, drink herbal tea and cultivate your breath through meditation. Find healing through acupuncture.

There is always a solution. Patience, hard work, and a desire to change your health for the better will get you there. Enjoy the journey!

氣 "Qi" (pronounced "chee") is the life energy, or life spirit, a vital force that flows through all living things. It is an essential part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which flows through invisible meridians (channels) of the body. This energy network connects organs, tissues, veins, nerves, cells, atoms, and consciousness itself. TCM balances the movement of Qi, which has the power to strengthen, energise and heal the body.

Understanding your Immune System According to Traditional Chinese Medicine!

Immunity:

The immune system in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consists of two parts: The external system and the internal system. Primarily, we are concerned with the external aspect called “Wei Qi”, a defensive energy residing just below the skin’s surface in the layers of the muscle and meridians. The Wei Qi involves the body’s natural ability to ward off disease-causing illnesses, such as colds, flu, allergies, and sinus problems.

As the skin and lungs are the only organs that communicate directly with the outside, the immune system's first line of defense starts here - with the Wei-Qi. The meridians and organs work together, with the lungs propelling the Wei Qi and providing a powerful stabilizing effect.

Pathogens:

In allopathic medicine (science-based medicine), external pathogens have been identified as harmful microbes such as fungi, bacteria and viruses that invade the body. Similarly, in TCM, external pathogens are identified as natural excesses of wind, heat, cold, dry, damp, summer heat and pestilence (microbes). One is especially susceptible to these pathogens in cases of a weakened immune system, resulting in a lack of physical stamina and psychological stress. The internal causes of a weakened immune system originate from internal pathogenic factors such as negative emotions in excess. Excessive emotions of anger, pensiveness, worry, sadness, fear and shock create an environment for disease and cause disharmony between the righteous Wei Qi and ill Wei Qi.

East Vs. West:

In many ways, the East and West invariably use different diagnostic systems and treatment protocols when diagnosing and treating diseases. Meaning, both are looking at the same phenomenon but from very unique perspectives. Hence in China, eastern measures such as TCM (herbs, acupuncture, moxa, and Qi gong), are administered and carried out to prevent the progress and or reduce the severity of the symptoms of the Covid-19 disease.

TCM Covid-19 Experience:

Covid-19, the disease running rampant through our world currently has been identified and diagnosed by TCM as offending pathogens invading the body as a result of wind-cold, wind-heat, damp, and toxicity. Toxicity is the utter state of resistance by our bodies to the virus. The stage of pathogens gaining access into the body is outlined like this: When the body’s Wei Qi is weak, wind (being the primary transporter for most external pathogens), invades the body. A wind-cold invasion results in chills, scratchy throat, white nasal discharge, and an aversion to cold. A wind-heat invasion results in a fever, yellow nasal discharge, sore throat, and an aversion to heat. The Covid-19 coronavirus falls into both the wind-cold category and the wind-heat category as infected patients experience and exhibit both sides of associated symptoms.

Progression of the Covid-19 coronavirus manifests itself initially with a wind-cold toxin invasion before progressing to wind-heat toxin invasion of the body. The latter establishes itself particularly if a person’s immunity is very weak (perhaps as a result of an underlying condition). In this case, the virus immediately infects the body at a deeper level. The usual reaction of the lungs, when pathogenic toxins invade the body, is to generate dampness in excess causing phlegm to expel the heat toxins from the body. However, in cases of when the Wei Qi is extremely compromised, the phlegm accumulates, eventually causing asphyxiation and death.

Ultimately, the Covid-19 coronavirus is an epidemic toxin that hinders and obstructs the flow of the Wei Qi and the blood within the body, thereby denying Qi to the lungs. Often such epidemic toxins are so powerful that they afflict the entire population, without regard for the constitutional integrity of the individual.

NB: It’s highly important to optimize your immune function with enough rest and adequately managing your stress / anxiety levels. For more information on holistic health solutions and essentials visit us at our online store.

We have sourced one of the premier herbal formulas being used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for hundreds of years: Jade Wind Screen Formula.

Jade Wind Screen is traditionally used to strengthen and replenish the body's overall defenses. This formula, which is best known for its antiviral properties, can be taken during fairly acute conditions and also as a preventative during times of high risk of infection. In controlled clinical trials, this Formula has proven to strengthen the body's immune defense function. It has been found to be particularly beneficial for optimal functioning of the respiratory tract in adults and children who have chronic respiratory conditions and who are susceptible to pathogenic wind attacks.

How did China fight and maintain control over Covid-19?

The decision that China made to include Herbal medicine as part of their treatment strategy for patients infected with Covid-19, could very well be the main reason for the promising results that unfolded and their current status within this Pandemic. Prior to this decision, the situation in the fight against this disease was dire, with hundreds of conditions worsening and death results escalating.

The plan to use Herbal medicine was quickly executed, and by late January 2020 the first Herbal formulas together with western medicine were administered to patients in the Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Herbal formulas were administered to patients according to the individual’s TCM pattern diagnosis, as prescribed by TCM experts. Following the successful outcomes, thereafter, TCM treatments were rolled out at other hospitals, namely the Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and others. Discharged patients were also sent home with a two-week dose of Chinese herbs along with instructions on appropriate exercise and proper diet in order to gain full recovery.

LifeRx Global Medicine has been successful in procuring one of the preventative TCM formulas used in China to both fight and prevent Covid-19.

The Hubei Pneumonia Prevention formula is based on one of the most popular formulas in herbal medicine. It’s the go-to formula for cold and pollen seasons, or anytime one’s immune system needs to guard against airborne pathogens. This formula is designed to strengthen the immune system, to help alleviate early symptoms, and to shorten the duration of Pneumonia and the Flu.
