What is mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS)? Your symptoms may be caused by excessive activity in a special cell in your body called the Mast Cell (MC) which is stimulated whenever you experience any stimuli, like a hot shower, sun, perfumes, clean solutions, or specific foods. We can treat pain related to MCAS!

Hypermobility & Chronic Pain: What’s the Connection? 🤸‍♀️💥
If you’re naturally flexible or have been told you’re “double-jointed,” you might also deal with chronic pain, fatigue, or instability. You’re not imagining it.

🧬 What is hypermobility?
Hypermobility refers to joints that move beyond their normal range due to the presence of stretchy connective tissue. It’s common in conditions like hEDS or joint hypermobility syndrome, but it can also exist on its own.

🔄 So why the pain?
When joints are unstable, your muscles often compensate by tightening to “hold things in place.” Over time, this leads to:
- Chronic muscle tension
- Overuse of certain muscle groups
- Fatigue and movement avoidance
- Sensations of weakness or “giving out”

⚠️ Some people also experience dizziness, digestive issues, or increased sensitivity due to nervous system involvement — it’s a whole-body condition, not just a joint issue.

💡 Our approach:
At our clinic, we use electrical diagnostics to identify overworked or under-functioning muscles. Then we treat the source, not with trigger points, but with targeted muscle-tendon injections at the attachment site.

🧠 Restore balance.
💪 Regain strength.
🧘‍♀️ Move with confidence again.

If you have never heard of mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), that’s because MCAS is a condition that is only gaining widespread recognition in the past decade or so through a recent boom in research. There are many doctors who are not familiar with MCAS, but as research grows on the condition, doctors are becoming aware of how and when to diagnose it. Is your posture really the reason you’re in pain? 🪑
The short answer: Not always. And probably not in the way you’ve been told.

📚 Research shows there’s no strong evidence that “bad posture” directly causes chronic pain, or that correcting posture alone reliably fixes it.

A 2024 study of office workers found no clear relationship between posture and the severity of back or neck pain. Another review emphasized that muscle function, prolonged stillness, and emotional stress play a bigger role than posture alone.

So what does matter?
👉 Muscle function - especially if your muscles are shortened, stiff, or underperforming.

At our clinic, we don’t just treat the way you sit or stand; we identify and treat the actual muscles contributing to your pain. Using electrical diagnostics and targeted muscle/tendon injections (not trigger point therapy), we help restore normal movement and long-term relief.

✅ Muscle-based treatment
✅ No guesswork
✅ Real, lasting change

Does the weather make your pain worse? 🌧️
You’re not imagining it! Shifts in barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity can all impact chronic pain.

☁️ When pressure drops before storms, tissues in your body may expand slightly, irritating joints or tight muscles.
❄️ Cold or damp conditions can reduce blood flow and cause muscles and fascia to tighten, especially if they’re already under-functioning.

If your pain flares with the weather, it might be a sign of underlying muscle or soft tissue dysfunction.
We use electrical diagnostics to pinpoint the root and treat it directly with muscle/tendon injections, not trigger point therapy.

✅ Targeted treatment
✅ One-time injection per muscle
✅ Followed by physical therapy for long-term relief

What even is fascia, and why is it connected to your chronic pain? 🤔
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, and organ in your body. Think of it like a full-body spiderweb 🕸️ when one part gets tight or stuck, it can pull on everything around it.

If your fascia is stiff or restricted, your muscles can’t move the way they should.
That can lead to:
🔹 Ongoing aches and stiffness
🔹 Pain that seems to “spread” over time
🔹 That stuck or crunchy feeling no one seems to treat

At our clinic, we don’t ignore the fascia. We assess muscle function using electrical diagnostics, and treat the source of the problem where it starts, at the muscle’s attachment to tendon or bone.
