🔹 Mr. Yashawant Kumar Yadav Yashawant is a postgraduate in Medical Imaging Technology from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Nepal. With over three years of clinical experience in MRI and CT, he specializes in advanced MRI techniques. He is actively involved in both clinical practice and research in the field of medical imaging. His recent contributions include presenting both a poster and an oral presentation at AACRT 2025 in Thailand.

🔹 Ms. Shristi Subedi
Shristi is an undergraduate student at Gandaki Medical College with a strong passion for medical imaging and its impact on patient care. She recently presented her research at AACRT 2025 in Thailand, further fueling her passion for learning and knowledge-sharing.

The Center for Medical Imaging Research (CMIR) is proud to host its inaugural webinar featuring Dr. Utsav Shrestha, Research Scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

🗓️ Title: Quantitative MRI for Hepatic Steatosis and Iron Overload
🎤 Speaker: Dr. Utsav Shrestha
🏛️ Affiliation: Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Dr. Shrestha’s research focuses on advancing quantitative MRI techniques to improve the detection, characterization, and monitoring of diffuse liver diseases such as steatosis and iron overload. His interdisciplinary background in biomedical engineering and computer science enables a unique approach to MR image analysis—integrating Monte Carlo simulations, phantom development, biophysical signal modeling, and deep learning for robust and reproducible biomarker quantification.

He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering and MS in Computer Science from the University of Memphis, where his doctoral work laid the foundation for several impactful methods in liver MRI.

🔬 His research has been featured in leading international forums, including multiple oral presentations at ISMRM, and published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. He is the recipient of several distinctions, including:

🏆 Reviewer of the Year 2024, European Radiology
🥇 Magna Cum Laude Merit Award, ISMRM, 2025

Dr. Shrestha is also a dedicated scientific peer reviewer, student mentor, and advocate for inclusive STEM education and outreach.
