When we launched the Mobile Prostate Cancer Screening Unit in New York, the goal was simple: take screening directly to the men who need it most. Too often, men delay testing because of fear, stigma, or lack of access, and by the time they see a doctor, it’s too late.
By bringing screenings into churches, community centers, and workplaces, we’ve been able to change that story. To date, the unit has screened 11,458 men across 688 events. Nearly 18% men who were tested have shown elevated PSA levels, lives that may now be saved through timely intervention.
This success has shown us what is possible. Our mission is to reach one million men, and to do that, we must expand beyond New York. That is why I am so proud to announce a new mobile screening unit in partnership with the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University.
This milestone has been made possible by the extraordinary generosity of Arthur Blank and the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, as well as the vision and leadership of Emory. Winship is a national leader in cancer care, with deep roots in the Southeast, and together we will ensure that geography or circumstance never dictate survival.
Every screening is a step toward saving a life. Together, we are building a future where early detection is the norm, not the exception.
