Recently, ICL's Pathways to Wellness (PTW) program hosted its inaugural Wellness Fair, welcoming the community to learn about heart health and the importance of preventative screenings.

The event featured activities for all ages! Children received backpacks full of school supplies, enjoyed fun games, had their faces painted, and participated in trivia.

A huge thank you to ICL Vice President of Health Homes Astrid Leonard, Associate Vice President Yael Fils and the rest of the PTW staff for organizing an impactful event.

We’re already looking forward to next year! 🎉

The first residents are officially moving into our newest affordable housing development in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn! 🎉🏡

Among them is Tara Gilbert, a former ICL transitional housing resident, now settling into her permanent home in one of the 183 apartments at the Atlantic.

“The ICL staff was receptive – I always had someone to talk to. The case managers, directors, therapists – everyone was more than staff. They were friends,” she said while settling into her new studio. “The move-in was easy, it was like, boom, boom! To know ICL thought about bedding, pillows, pots and pans – I was blown away. It made me smile.”

It's moments like these that remind us exactly why we're committed to expanding safe, affordable housing and care across New York City. Welcome home, Tara! 💛

Shannon arrived at ICL’s Rockaway Park Clinic feeling overwhelmed by personal challenges. With steady support and her own determination, she found her voice, earned a psychology degree, and began using art to inspire and uplift children. 🎨

Today, she’s studying art therapy at the School of Visual Arts—ready to help kids heal and bring lasting change to her community! 💛

Last week, we teamed up with Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Veterans to host a special Veterans Cookout at our East New York Health HUB—and News 12 Brooklyn came by to check it out!

With the help of our generous partners, we served up more than 100 meals, distributed 96 summer care kits, enjoyed live music, and celebrated our community with good food and even better company.

We’re proud to support veterans living with mental health challenges through transitional housing and behavioral health care. Huge thanks to our volunteers, partner organizations, and everyone who joined us to honor those who have served. 💙

STEPS is taking a big step forward.

Just one year after launching, our innovative Step-down Treatment Ensures Personal Success (STEPS) program is being replicated across New York City with $4.5 million in new funding from NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Mayor Eric Adams, and the New York City Council.

Piloted with funding from the Helmsley Charitable Trust, STEPS is a first-of-its-kind model that helps New Yorkers with serious mental health challenges step down from intensive care programs like Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT), rebuild stability, and live more independently. In its first year, it delivered results: better outcomes for participants and saved the city millions.

Now, it's scaling up! Because when care works, it should be accessible to more people. We're thankful to the city for recognizing the impact of STEPS and investing in a model that puts New Yorkers on the path to a better future.

We’re deeply grateful to Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez () for the opportunity to speak out against devastating Medicaid cuts.

More than 80% of ICL clients rely on Medicaid for life-changing care. Jenn, one of our clients, shared: “Medicaid made it possible for me to have therapy, housing support, medical care, and parenting help.”

These cuts would be catastrophic. We will not stay silent while our communities are put at risk. We’re proud to stand with our partners and elected leaders to protect Medicaid and the people who depend on it.
