This past weekend I had the privilege to resit Shinpiden (Reiki 3 Training). Six years after my first Shinpiden, I could approach it with a new perspective, and more curiosities.

The weekend was filled with grounded healing practices that subtly opened us up to the mystery of Reiki. We practiced attunements, chanting, meditation, moving meditation, and hands-on-healing on repeat for three days. 🥰

In true Reiki fashion, there were some signs and synchronicities. I found a red heart shaped crystal in the parking lot.. and stumbled upon a restaurant named Kokoro (heart-mind in Japanese)!

Thank you Nicholas for the amazing research you do and the transformational Shinpiden class that you facilitated. 🙏🏽

I was updating the resources section of my Reiki 1, 2 and 3 Manuals and I couldn’t help but think how far we’ve come with teaching materials in this space. So much more research has become available to us in the last decade. Practices are more accessible than ever to beginners. What’s your go to Reiki book? 📚

Before the actual ceremony, practice the attunement ritual with an empty chair. If you will be sharing an attunement virtually, visualize yourself energetically sharing the attunement at a distance. After you’re done, sit in that chair and hold the intention of receiving the attunement.

Let yourself bask in the healing energy. The more you practice, the more you will be able to hold the energy of attunements with ease and grace.

This practice helps Reiki Master Teachers develop familiarity with the frequency of the attunements. 💫

Honor Your Role—and Let Go
Remember: you are the channel, not the source. Your role as a Reiki Master Teacher is to:

Be present
Stay in your practice
Offer the attunement with sincerity and integrity
Then, trust the energy.

You don’t have to force outcomes. You don’t need to prove anything. Just show up with love and faith, and let Reiki do the rest.

Each student will receive exactly what they need. Some will dive deeply into practice, others may not. Your job is only to introduce them to the teachings in an authentic manner.
