Please join us in congratulating our Care Partner of the Month for March, Esther Okoro! Originally from Nigeria, Esther has called New York City home for many years. She has been a Certified Home Health Aide since 2011 and originally joined Renewal Memory Partners because of its person-centered mission and the opportunity to expand her care expertise with those in need of cognitive support. She excels at creating strong bonds with her clients and their loved ones, often becoming like a member of the family to them. Aside from her devotion to providing excellent care, she is also happy to jump in and assist her fellow Care Partners when needed. When not with her clients, Esther enjoys cooking, going to baseball games, traveling, and spending time with her children. We feel so fortunate to have Esther as part of the RMP team!

Join us on April 18th at the Evanston Public Library for a screening of “Familiar Touch,” an award-winning film that explores one woman’s transition into assisted living and her changing relationships with family and caregivers.

The screening will be followed by a guided discussion on aging, family dynamics, and the full spectrum of care options including the role of home care in supporting people to age in place.

Please join us in congratulating Sharon Bailey on being Renewal's Care Partner of the Month for January! Sharon's passion for helping others, along with the encouragement of a nurse she befriended, is what initially inspired her to become a Home Health Aide. This year marks the tenth year that Sharon has been with Renewal! She is an active member of the team, always showing up for in-person trainings and team-building events. Her calm, engaging demeanor shines through in everything that she does. We feel incredibly lucky to have Sharon as part of the Renewal family!

We all had a great time ringing in the new year with new and old Care Partners, alike, and their families! Despite the cold, that didn't stop our Chicago Care Partners from soaking in the tropical vibes 😎🏝 It's always wonderful catching up, sharing pizza, and laughs. Can't wait to see what 2026 holds!

We are pleased to recognize Isabella as Care Partner of the Month. Isabella came to Renewal as a graduate student in Art Therapy and brings her creative skills and training to her connections with our clients. Whether through coming up with ideas for engaging arts and crafts activities, or just bringing a little extra creativity to the practical tasks of life, Isabella has been a valuable asset to our team and has positively impacted the lives of everyone she has worked with. The volunteers and attendees at the most recent Edgewater Village Memory Cafe were spellbound by the Count and Wanda the Witch, visiting from Vaudeville Chicago. The Vaudeville Chicago troupe is a mission driven group bringing entertainment, fun and light to older adults throughout Chicagoland, under the leadership of artistic director Craig Sjogerman. I am a member of the non-profit Board of Edgewater Village of Chicago, sponsors of the Memory Cafe. Please join us in congratulating Joanna Serna on being Renewal's October Care Partner of the Month! Joanna's passion for caregiving comes from deeply personal experience, having spent significant time caring for her father, who has Lewy Body Dementia. That, along with her extensive community service work with organizations like Project Open Hand, has shaped her dedication to supporting vulnerable populations with kindness and respect. Outside of work, Joanna is a true explorer. Whether she’s hiking, horseback riding, or strolling the city with her two dogs, she finds joy in movement and discovery. With a heart full of compassion and a spirit of curiosity, Joanna brings warmth, energy, and a deep commitment to connection to her work with Renewal. She cares for her client as if they were her own family member, and that truly makes all the difference. We feel so lucky to have Joanna on the Renewal team!

Our team members, their loved ones (including the youngest in strollers!), and our wider community will gather in NYC to honor those impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia, and to support the vital work CaringKind does every day.
