We’re keeping the momentum going for Low Vision Awareness Month. 💛

In today’s video, meet Dr. Andrea Zimmerman, one of our outstanding Low Vision Optometrists — and hear why recognizing the early warning signs of low vision matters.

Dr. Zimmerman will also explain how a low vision exam goes deeper than a standard eye exam… and why that difference can change someone’s life.

A spectacular Visionary Evening made possible by our incredible Palm Beach supporters! ✨

Your generosity powers the health services, technology, and youth programs that help people who are blind or are visually impaired build confidence, independence, and a brighter future.

We were thrilled to recognize Gigi & Harry Benson and Michele & Howard Kessler, whose leadership and commitment continue to open doors for our community.

Thomas Panek, Lighthouse Guild President & CEO, summed it up perfectly: “Vision loss is a journey, not a destination, and no one should have to walk that journey alone.”

Thank you for coming on this journey with us. 💛

What an incredible night! 🎬✨

We were honored to collaborate with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts to screen San Juan Hill: Manhattan’s Lost Neighborhood in a fully accessible experience designed for people who are blind or have low vision.

From the warm reception, to the inspirational remarks from Thomas Panek, Lighthouse Guild President & CEO and Leah C. Johnson, EVP, Chief Communications, Marketing & Advocacy Officer at Lincoln Center, and the powerful conversation after the screening, the evening was filled with connection, reflection, and community.

This is what collaboration looks like 💛 — expanding access, amplifying stories, and creating more inclusive spaces for all. Here’s to many more nights of accessible arts and entertainment! 🙌♿🎥

Lighthouse Guild’s very own Kiana Glanton was featured on an incredible episode on The Motherly Podcast 🎙️💙

When Kiana lost her vision to an autoimmune disease, she was also becoming a mother... How do you raise a child while navigating blindness? She breaks it all down — the adaptive technology, the community that showed up, and the unbreakable bond with her daughter.

Kiana also talks about her work at Lighthouse Guild and leading Lighthouse Guild’s blind baseball team — breaking stereotypes one swing at a time ⚾

This conversation is raw, powerful, and proof that motherhood has no formula – just love, resilience, and finding your way.

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing a story that shows us how meaningful connection can begin in the simplest moments. ❤️

Jay and Lulu first started getting to know each other sitting side by side on a Saturday morning bus — a weekly commute to Lighthouse Guild’s teen program, a supportive space where teens with vision loss explore activities, grow skills, and form lasting friendships. 🚌

Their story is a beautiful reminder that community, access, and shared experiences can open the door to unexpected connections.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Jay and Lulu, and everyone celebrating!

Read their full story here below, and feel the love!

The summer before Lulu started 10th grade, her friends kept mentioning a new student, Jay, who was expected to join their high school in the fall. She kept hearing words like cool, funny – yet when he showed…

🏈 Ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend, Lighthouse Guild President and CEO Thomas Panek was featured in an NPR story about new technology helping blind and visually impaired fans follow the game!

📲 Haptic tablets and audio description are changing how people experience live sports at home. Thomas envisions a future where blind fans can track the ball in real-time and tell their sighted friends exactly where it is.

🐕 This Sunday, Thomas will be watching with friends, family, and his guide dog "Ten"—named after Eli Manning and lovingly called his "Labrador receiver." Let us know in the comments where you’re watching the game!

The future of accessible sports is here! Read the full story ⬇️

Some blind and low vision fans will get to use haptic tablets at Super Bowl 60. It allows them to feel the ball as it moves around the field.

🎵 Meet Fitz — audio engineer, entrepreneur, and the inspiring voice behind our Braille Literacy Month celebration! 🎧

Born with retinitis pigmentosa, Fitz spent years as the only person with vision loss in the music industry. He labeled his entire soundboard in braille and refused to compromise his standards. 💪

Then he reconnected with Lighthouse Guild. He found community, purpose, and a way to give back. 💙

Check out more about Fitz:

My name is Fitz Martin, and I’m the Founder and CEO of Will Power Entertainment. The name says it all: where there’s a will, there’s a way! I’ve been proving that my entire…
