👀 Have you noticed how the industry has turned trolling professional referees into a full-blown marketing strategy?

These seemingly spontaneous “viral moments” are a calculated pivot to recapture public trust and get LASIK back into a positive media spotlight.

Watch how they're doing it here:

Recognizing the limitations of glasses and contacts in the field, Ornithologist 👨‍🔬🦤 Jordan Boersma, Ph.D. decided to undergo Advanced Surface Ablation earlier this year.

For Dr. Boersma, the decision to get ASA was more than just about convenience – it was about enhancing his ability to conduct important conservation research.

Jordan's field work probably looks very different from your work environment – but his decision to get resonates with anyone wanting to remove unnecessary dependencies from their life (whether that's the hassle of packing extra contacts for a weekend trip, the frustration of losing glasses at the worst moment, or the need to be prepared for any situation life throws your way).

Let’s be real for a second: if you’ve ever done the math on your monthly contact lens expenses, you’ve probably had that “wait, I’m literally paying to see” moment. 😅 And yeah, it’s kinda wild when you think about it. But here’s the kicker—what if all that money you’ve spent on lenses could’ve been invested in something that actually fixes your vision for good?

That’s where ASA (Advanced Surface Ablation) comes in. And no, we’re not talking about just any laser eye surgery—we’re talking about the game-changing kind. ASA is a surface-level procedure that doesn’t create a flap in your cornea (yep, no cutting involved). Instead, it works by gently removing the outer layer of your cornea and reshaping it with a laser to correct your vision. In simple terms? We’re not cutting into your eye—we’re just zapping it with precision lasers to solve your nearsightedness once and for all. 🔫👀

So, let me ask you this: after adding up how much you’re spending just to see every year (and for the rest of your life), doesn’t it make sense to invest in a solution that could actually save you money in the long run?

I’ll just leave that thought here for you to mull over… After all, the choice is yours. 😉

Hearing stories like this one is why I love what I do. Helping someone achieve the freedom of waking up every morning with clear vision—without glasses or contacts—is truly life-changing.

This patient’s journey was one of careful research and thoughtful decisions. They knew they didn’t want LASIK because of the risks involved, and after we talked through all the options, they decided ASA was the best choice for them. I’m honored they trusted me with such an important part of their life—their vision.

For me, it’s never just about the surgery. It’s about taking the time to answer all your questions, making sure you feel completely at ease, and being there for you from the very first consultation to the last follow-up. You’re not just a patient here—you’re family.

So this holiday season, if you’ve been dreaming of leaving glasses and contacts behind, let’s make it happen together.
Happy holidays, and here’s to seeing the new year with fresh eyes! 🎁✨

🚩 Red Flag Alert: Be Wary of "20/20 Vision Guarantees"
If your doctor promises you perfect 20/20 vision after laser surgery, it’s time to ask some questions. No ethical surgeon can guarantee results like that—every eye is unique, and outcomes can vary.
What we can promise? A safe, personalized approach that prioritizes your eye health and realistic results. Don’t fall for false guarantees

👨‍⚕️✨ 15 Years of Helping Patients Feel at Ease
In my years as a doctor, I’ve worked with all kinds of patients—some calm and collected, others understandably nervous. For those who are a little more anxious (and that’s totally normal!), I’ve found that these three simple strategies work wonders:
1️⃣ Repetition and Patience – I take the time to explain every step of the procedure, so my patients know exactly what to expect at every moment. No surprises, just clarity.
2️⃣ Fidget Toys – A stress ball might seem simple, but trust me, it works. Giving my patients something to squeeze during the procedure helps calm nerves and gives them a sense of control.
3️⃣ A Little Help From Va**um – For those who need it, a low dose of Va**um can make all the difference. It helps take the edge off and ensures a smooth, stress-free experience.
Your comfort is just as important as your vision, and I’m here to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.

Don’t Wait Until You’re Facing a Ticket—or Worse, Jail Time—Because You’re Driving Without Your Glasses
Here’s the deal: In New York State, you’re legally required to have vision that’s at least 20/40 (according to the Snellen Visual Acuity Scale) in one or both eyes, whether it’s natural or corrected with glasses or contacts.

Think it’s no big deal? Well, that “tiny detail” could land you in serious trouble if you get pulled over. Don’t risk it—save yourself the headache (and the fine) by doing two simple things:
1️⃣ Get an Annual Eye Exam. When was the last time you checked your vision, huh? Be honest.
2️⃣ If You’re Prescribed Glasses for Driving, Wear Them. Pretty straightforward, right?

And hey, if you’re ready to take it a step further and ditch the glasses altogether, an ASA procedure could be a game-changer But we’ll save that conversation for later.
For now, do your future self a favor—keep your eyes sharp, your vision clear, and your driving record clean. 😉

💻👀 Spending Hours in Front of Screens? Let’s Talk About Eye Fatigue
Whether it’s work, study, or watching your favorite stream, spending long hours staring at screens has become a daily norm for most of us. Thats why sindromes like eye fatigue, or asthenopia are really more common lately.
Eye fatigue happens when your eyes get tired from intense, prolonged focus on activities like reading, writing, or, most commonly, looking at digital screens. It’s that tired, strained feeling you get after hours of zoom calls or endless scrolling.
here’s some simple trick to help keep your eyes fresh and focused:
✨ The 20-20-20 Rule
Every 20 minutes, take a break for 20 seconds and look at something 20 feet away. This small habit can work wonders for your eyes, giving them the reset they need.
Why Does It Work?
When we focus on something up close for long periods—like a book or a screen—our eye muscles stay locked in one position, which leads to tension and fatigue. By looking at something far away, you allow those muscles to relax and refocus, reducing strain and preventing that heavy, tired feeling in your eyes.
Your eyes work hard for you every day—don’t forget to give them a little break.
