We here at Williamsburg Chiropractic are constantly preaching the importance of as part of a healthy lifestyle. With the summer weather upon us we wanted to share some of Dr. Hoffman’s favorite tips for being active when the temps are high 🔥🔥🔥Make sure you stay hydrated, work out in the cooler parts of the day if you are working out outside of the AC, and have some fun and try new summer activities as part of you summer workout fun. All of us here at Williamsburg Chiropractic know how much our affects our overall . You’ve heard us talk about the and how integral our Diet, Rest, Exercise, Alignment, and Mental wellness are to your overall health. When it comes to our diet we have a lot of options and some are more healthy than others. We like to make the following recommendations when it comes to improving your diet.

1. Variety is key! You may have heard the saying “eat the rainbow” meaning you should goal to eat foods of all different colors. Different foods have different nutrients and the best way to make sure you are getting all the necessary nutrition is to eat a wide variety of foods of different types and colors.

2. KISS! aka Keep It Simple Stupid. Don’t over-complicate your diet if you don’t have to. Simple ingredients are best as we goal to limit and avoid over-processed foods. As a general rule you should be suspicious of foods that have more than about 5 ingredients.

3. Eat more veggies! Almost every single person we meet could benefit from having more vegetables in their diet. Veggies provide all sorts of essential nutrients, amazing phytonutrients, anti-oxidants, fiber, and so much more. Experiment with different vegetables and different ways to prepare them. And remember, have fun with it!
