Peaceful New Year. I wouldn’t wish you a life absent of the rich nuance and mutability of emotion, but beyond happiness and sadness, I wish you existential peace. Beyond good health and illness, I wish you peacefulness beyond circumstances, beyond understanding. Fluctuation is the nature of life. I wish you the wordless awe of sunsets, and the breathless clarity and simplicity of grief, the warmth and constancy of where you feel welcome, and the humility and vulnerability of letting go of what is already gone. I wish for you to be moved by this life and keep moving. Let it move through you and change you. But bathe and rest deep in the experience that surrounding all of life and at its center, at your center; peace, peace, peace.

It's all ok. In case you need to hear it, you have plenty of permission to get a little lost. Everyone is a little lost now. Just rest assured, as lonely or disconnected as you might be feeling, you are actually sharing the feeling that many people are feeling right now and you are so connected through that shared experience. You're a mess just like everyone else. Everything is in order in it's out of order way. It’s going to be ok.
