Today was Global Running Day. While we would have loved to talk about it and encourage everyone to get out there running, it just didn’t feel right. Today our city is boarded up and in fear. Today our country is in mourning. But every day many people are in fear for no reason other than the color of their skin. Today the only idea we want to talk about is a world without color, without prejudice, and without destruction. We just wish we knew how to get there.

Athletes face many obstacles, but being at home makes us all human. The rise in other health crises, not including only eating disorders and athletes, but mental health issues, domestic violence and beyond, deserve attention. Reach out to your friends and loved ones especially if you think they may be struggling. Sometimes the best way to help someone is listening.
May is mental health awareness month, but I believe all of these things encompass our mental health.
