If you have nagging lower back pain that just won’t go away no matter how much you rub it, the culprit might not be your back at all.
It might be your Psoas.
The Psoas is the only muscle that connects your legs to your spine. In pregnancy, as your center of gravity shifts forward, the Psoas often becomes short and tight to hold you upright.🤰
➡️ Back Pain: A tight Psoas pulls on your lumbar spine, constantly compressing the lower back vertebrae (ouch).
➡️ Baby Positioning: Think of your Psoas as the "runway" for your baby. If the muscle is tight and short, it reduces the space in the pelvic bowl, making it harder for the baby to engage or "drop" into an optimal position.
You cannot force a Psoas to release. It responds to safety, not force.🤍
We use targeted movement, gentle stretching, and specific movements release techniques to:
🌷 Soften the abdominal region.
🌷 Restore alignment to the pelvis.
🌷 Create the space your baby needs to navigate down.
If you are navigating the final weeks of pregnancy, we can help create a little more space for both of you. Let’s gently invite baby into the best position for birth while giving your back the relief you deserve.
