I'm starting a FREE hour-long weekly Zoom meeting - "Auntie Sue's Pandemic Kitchen for Sustainable Health" which will begin this coming Wednesday, April 8, at 3pm EDT.

The media focuses on exposure, which is important, but masks, hand washing, and social distancing are only half the story. Immunity and survival depend on resilience – how to maintain and sustain our health during this time – and into the future

My book, Sustainable Health: Simple Habits to Transform Your Life, focuses on exactly this topic – what to do daily – for health and happiness.

When I worked with kids in my clinic I had four “very strict” rules. The first one is: HAVE FUN! And that’s where we’ll start our first Pandemic Kitchen. I’ll talk about the science behind how having fun and letting go of stress boosts our immune systems. Looking at the virus from whole new perspective – playfully instead of fearfully – and why that makes a difference. I’ll give you a meditation practice and a recipe for an immune-boosting tea you can make and enjoy! There will be time for questions and answers before we sign off.

In this time of change I'm thinking of vlogging - Auntie Sue's Pandemic Kitchen. Last night we had "Snack Dinner" - Kale Chips with Sesame oil & Ume Plum Vinegar, followed by popcorn and my special "Movie Juice" - butter, olive oil, sesame oil, and chipotle oil. We ate it watching Tyler Perry's movie "Fall from Grace" a thriller.

Exciting News!!!
The book I've been working on for the past two years,Sustainable Health: Simple Habits to Transform Your Life is due back from the printer & binder sometime the end of this month! It will be available in bookstores December 18 (but you can pre-order it online from Amazon now!)

W.W. Norton is featuring the book on the back cover of their fall catalog. They have also purchased an ad in the Nov/Dec issue of Psychology Today.

I hope to be doing many, many promotions of the book in the upcoming months, but the first one will also be a two-part class on Sustainable Health at the UU Congregation of Shelter Rock at 1:00 pm this Sunday (October 21, 2018) called "Fall Into Winter". The class will introduce the Healing Compass of Sustainable Health with a focus on staying well during this time of transition from autumn to winter.

I'll be sharing a couple of recipes and 3 qigong movements that help boost the immune system and breathing, as well as relieve shoulder pain. I'll also be explaining the ideas behind all this and one simple fall habit from my book. The second class (on Nov. 4) will review the previous information and and offer a few more Winter oriented movements, habits, and recipes.
