Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine

Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine Patients demanded a better way, our founder demanded a better way, a better way to treat pelvic pain is why we’re here.

At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, we treat whole human beings, not symptoms. In the body, everything is connected; and the pelvic region.

You were told everything is “normal,” but you still don’t feel normal.

This is something we hear all the time: imaging comes back clear, yet symptoms like pelvic pain, bloating, painful periods, or fatigue are still very real.

Here’s the truth:
Normal ultrasound results do not rule out endometriosis or other causes of pelvic pain.

Some conditions don’t show up on imaging at all, especially early-stage disease or lesions that are too small or too deep to be detected. And often, symptoms start years before anything becomes visible on a scan.

So if you’ve ever been told “everything looks fine” but your body is telling a different story, that disconnect matters.

A normal scan doesn’t always mean a normal pelvis. It may simply mean the right answer hasn’t been found yet.

If your symptoms are ongoing, they deserve further evaluation, not dismissal.

Save this if you’ve ever been told everything looks normal but you knew something wasn’t right.

Many people with pelvic pain conditions describe a similar pattern: being told for years that their symptoms were related to IBS, anxiety, or “normal cycles,” despite ongoing, life-disrupting pain.

Normal imaging and routine testing do not always explain what someone is experiencing. That gap is where many patients are left without answers, not because their symptoms aren’t real, but because pelvic pain conditions can be complex, multifactorial, and difficult to identify without specialized evaluation.

This is why so many people are only diagnosed after significant delay, and often after symptoms have progressed.

If you’ve ever felt dismissed, we want you to know: persistent pain deserves continued investigation, even when initial testing is normal.

Save this if you’ve ever been told “everything looks fine” but you knew something wasn’t.

Meet Tiffany Gomez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, now seeing patients in San Antonio.

As a pelvic pain specialist, Tiffany’s approach starts with listening. Understanding each patient’s experience, what they’ve tried, and what they’ve been told is a critical part of building a care plan that actually works.

Her goal is simple: help patients feel heard, supported, and confident that they’re in the right place to find answers.

At PRM, care is designed to go beyond surface-level treatment, focusing on identifying the underlying cause of chronic pelvic pain and providing a more complete path forward.

Adenomyosis is often misdiagnosed because its symptoms overlap with several other common conditions.

It is frequently mistaken for IBS when patients report bloating, cramping, or bowel changes that seem digestive in nature.

It may be attributed to fibroids when there is heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, or an enlarged uterus on imaging.

It is sometimes labeled as endometriosis, since both conditions can cause significant pelvic pain and symptom overlap.

And in many cases, symptoms are generalized as “hormonal imbalance” when no single clear cause is identified early on.

The challenge is that adenomyosis involves tissue similar to the uterine lining growing into the muscular wall of the uterus, which can lead to heavy or prolonged bleeding, painful periods, and chronic pelvic pain. These symptoms can closely mimic other conditions, which is why it is often overlooked or delayed in diagnosis.

Understanding these overlaps is important because persistent or disruptive symptoms deserve a full evaluation, not a single label.

There’s a lot of information out there about endometriosis, but not all of it is accurate.

And sometimes, what patients are told can actually delay answers.

In this live, we’re breaking it down, honestly and clearly:

What to expect at a pelvic pain consultation
What recovery after excision surgery really looks like
Why pain can sometimes persist, even after surgery
And a simple, no-confusion guide to adenomyosis and treatment options

This is the conversation patients don’t always get in the exam room.

📍 Nashville, meet your new surgeon.

Dr. Tarek Toubia is bringing advanced, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and endometriosis care to patients who have spent far too long searching for answers.

After years of performing complex surgeries and even building a specialty clinic that drew patients from across state lines, his mission is clear: to provide expert care to those who need it most, without the delays, dismissal, or confusion so many patients experience.

His approach starts with something many patients haven’t been given before, time. Time to listen. Time to understand your full story. And time to build a plan that’s truly individualized to you.

Because no two patients are the same, and your care shouldn’t be either.

At PRM, Dr. Toubia is focused on helping patients with endometriosis, fibroids, and chronic pelvic pain feel heard, understood, and finally supported with real solutions.

💛 You deserve answers. You deserve a plan.

Painful periods, heavy bleeding, and life-disrupting symptoms are often dismissed as “just part of being a woman.”

But just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s normal.

If your symptoms are impacting your daily life, your work, your energy, your relationships, or your ability to function, that deserves more than dismissal. It deserves evaluation.

Conditions like adenomyosis are often overlooked or misunderstood, leaving many patients searching for answers for years.

You are not “overreacting.” You are not “too sensitive.” And you are not supposed to just push through pain that disrupts your life.

Your experience is real, and it matters.

So many people are living with symptoms long before they ever get answers.

Painful cycles, heavy or irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, bloating, fatigue, bowel or bladder changes, pain with in*******se,
and being told it’s “normal,” “stress,” or “just part of being a woman.”

But when symptoms are persistent, disruptive, and affecting your daily life,
they’re worth paying attention to.

Conditions like endometriosis, adenomyosis, and PCOS can look different for everyone,
which is part of why they’re so often missed or delayed in diagnosis.

What’s not rare is the experience of being dismissed first and diagnosed later.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

💛 Endo, Adeno, or PCOS? These conditions affect many people with pelvic pain, heavy periods, irregular cycles, and other symptoms, but each has unique causes and impacts.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing pelvic pain, painful periods, and digestive issues.
Adenomyosis happens when uterine lining tissue grows into the muscular wall of the uterus, leading to heavy periods, pressure, and discomfort.
PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) is a hormonal condition that affects ovulation, can cause irregular cycles, cysts, excess androgen symptoms, and fertility challenges.

Because symptoms can overlap, these conditions are often misdiagnosed or dismissed. Early recognition, proper evaluation, and personalized care are critical for long-term relief and overall health.

At PRM, we help patients understand the differences, guide them toward accurate diagnosis, and create treatment plans tailored to their needs, because knowledge is the first step toward control and wellness. 🌸
