💛 Endometriosis doesn’t just affect the body physically, it can also impact how you see and feel about your body.

Between chronic pain, bloating, fatigue, scars, and the emotional toll of living with an invisible illness, it’s easy to feel disconnected from or even frustrated with your body. Many people with endo struggle with body image, self-worth, and confidence, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.

But here’s what we want you to remember: your body is not broken. It has carried you through pain, through long days, through appointments and procedures, and it continues to show up for you every single day. That is strength. That is resilience. That is worthy of compassion.

✨ This carousel is full of gentle affirmations for the days when it feels hardest to love your body. Swipe through, save them, come back when you need a reminder:
You are more than your scars. You are more than your pain. You are whole, worthy, and enough, always.

💛 You shouldn’t have to be your own doctor just to be believed.

For so many people living with pelvic pain, this statement feels all too real. Instead of being heard and supported, they’re left bouncing between providers, searching online for answers, and piecing together their own care plans, all while managing pain that disrupts every part of daily life.

Pelvic pain is not something patients should have to explain away, justify, or constantly prove. It deserves recognition, validation, and comprehensive treatment. No one should have to fight this hard just to get their pain taken seriously.

At PRM, we believe the first step in care is listening. Every story matters. Every symptom deserves attention. And every patient has the right to be believed.

✨ If you’ve ever felt dismissed or like you had to be your own doctor, know this: you are not alone, and your pain is real.

⏱️ Not all endometriosis surgeries are the same.

The length of an excision surgery can vary widely. It depends on the stage of the disease, the complexity of the case, and the surgeon’s level of experience. For some, surgery may be relatively straightforward, while for others it can take hours of careful, precise work.

That’s why it’s so important to work with a surgeon trained specifically in endometriosis excision, someone who understands the complexity of the disease and can provide the most thorough, effective care possible.

💛🏃‍♀️ 6 Weeks to Go!

This November, Dr. Robyn Power will take on the NYC Marathon with Team EndoFound, running on behalf of her patients and the millions worldwide living with endometriosis.

As Dr. Power shares:

“Endometriosis is not ‘just a bad period.’ It’s a whole-body, chronic inflammatory disease that affects 1 in 10 women and can impact the nervous system, digestive health, immune response, and emotional well-being. Too often, pelvic pain is dismissed or minimized, leaving most people waiting 7–10 years for a diagnosis. We have to change that.”

Through her run, Dr. Power is raising awareness and also fundraising $5,000 for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, supporting research, education, and advocacy to advance endometriosis care.

✨ We’ll be cheering her on every step of the way, and you can support too by following her journey, sharing her story, or contributing toward her fundraising goal: Click the link to donate https://give.endofound.org/fundraiser/6387886

Together, we are stronger. Together, we can create change. 💛

When most people hear the word endometriosis, they think of bad period cramps.
But the truth is, endo is so much more than that.

👉 What people think it is: a “women’s health issue,” limited to periods and solved with birth control or surgery.
👉 What it actually is: a chronic, whole-body disease driven by inflammation and nerve involvement, capable of affecting multiple organs, including the bladder, bowel, diaphragm, and even the lungs.

For many, the pain isn’t just once a month. It can flare during ovulation, bowel movements, urination, s*x, exercise, or even day-to-day activities. Beyond pain, endometriosis can also impact fertility, digestion, urinary health, energy, and mental well-being.

The road to diagnosis is often long and filled with dismissals like “it’s just in your head” or “it’s just part of being a woman.” But awareness matters, because the sooner endo is recognized as the complex, systemic disease it is, the sooner patients can get the specialized care they deserve.

💛 Endometriosis is not “just bad periods.” It’s a life-altering condition that requires awareness, advocacy, and comprehensive treatment. The more we talk about the reality of endo, the closer we get to making sure no one suffers in silence.

💛 September is Pain Awareness Month 💛
Pelvic pain affects more than 300 million people worldwide. Yet despite its prevalence, it’s often dismissed, minimized, or misdiagnosed, leaving countless people without answers or support.

Pelvic pain can be caused by many conditions, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, interstitial cystitis, and fibroids. For too many patients, the journey to a diagnosis takes years, filled with uncertainty and frustration.

Pain that interferes with daily life is not normal, and raising awareness is the first step toward earlier recognition, accurate diagnosis, and better care.

At PRM, we’re proud to be part of that change, listening to patients, validating their experiences, and working toward solutions that bring relief and improve quality of life.

Life After Excision Surgery: What Recovery Can Look Like 💙

Excision surgery is a big step toward relief from endometriosis, but healing takes time. Many patients notice:

🔹 The first period can be the toughest, heavier bleeding and stronger cramps.
🔹 By the second period, things start improving.
🔹 Around 3–6 months, many feel the real benefits, less pain, more energy, and daily life returning.
🔹 After 6 months, inflammation is often greatly reduced, though some may need additional support.

At PRM, our goal is to help shorten the time patients suffer with pain.

🌸 What to Expect After Endometriosis Excision Surgery 🌸

Recovery looks different for everyone, but here’s what Dr. Touchan shares about what many patients experience in the first few months post-op:

✨ 1st Period (4–8 weeks): Often the toughest, heavy flow, intense cramping, and sharp pain. Heat, rest, and medication can help.
✨ 2nd Period: Symptoms begin to improve, though cramping and bleeding may still be present.
✨ 3–6 Months: Most patients notice the biggest changes, less pain, fewer flare-ups, more energy, and getting their life back. 🙌

Every recovery journey is unique, and sometimes additional treatment is needed. At PRM, we often combine surgery with the PRM Protocol™ to calm nerve inflammation and support long-term healing.

💬 Have you gone through excision surgery? What helped you the most during recovery?

09/16/2025

Excision surgery is currently the gold standard for treating endometriosis, but it’s not a cure. For some patients, lesions can grow back, and the symptoms often look familiar:

💧 Bladder pain or urgency
💩 Pain or bleeding with bowel movements during your period
😣 Lower abdominal pain or bloating
💛 Pain with in*******se

If these symptoms return after surgery, it doesn’t always mean the surgery “failed.” Endometriosis is a chronic condition, and recurrence is possible even after excision.

👉 The most important factor in lowering the risk of recurrence is the skill and training of your surgeon. A standard OBGYN residency is not enough, look for someone who has completed an advanced fellowship specifically in endometriosis excision surgery. This extra training equips surgeons to identify and remove disease more thoroughly, which can make a huge difference in long-term outcomes.

At PRM, our fellowship-trained surgeons collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to not only treat endo lesions, but also address inflammation, nerve pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction that often accompany this disease.

If symptoms return, know that it’s not your fault, and that you deserve expert, specialized care.
