We hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. These last 3 months have been a time filled with uncertainty, anxiety, and life-style changes for everyone. As we navigate this ‘new normal’, we want you to know that we are so thankful to be a part of this community and are ready to serve you again.
As NYC enters Phase 1 of the reopening, we are planning to begin seeing patients on Tuesday, June 16th.
What we are doing for your protection:
- Ensure 6 ft. distance between personnel, unless safety or core function of the work activity requires a shorter distance. All personnel and patients are required to wear acceptable face coverings.
- Tightly confined spaces will be occupied by no more than one patient and one tech at a time and all occupants must wear face coverings. If occupied by more than one person, will keep occupancy under 50% of maximum capacity.
- Employers will provide employees with an acceptable face covering at no-cost to the employee and have an adequate supply of coverings in case of replacement.
- Face coverings will be cleaned or replaced after use or when damaged or soiled, may not be shared, and will be properly stored or discarded.
- Limit the sharing of objects and discourage touching of shared surfaces; or, when in contact with shared objects or frequently touched areas, wear gloves; or, sanitize or wash hands before and after contact.
- Adhere to hygiene and sanitation requirements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH)
- Provide and maintain hand hygiene stations for personnel and patients, including handwashing with soap, water, and paper towels, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing 60% or more alcohol for areas where handwashing is not feasible.
- Conduct regular cleaning and disinfection of examination rooms after each patient and frequent cleaning and disinfection of shared objects and surfaces, as well as high transit areas, such as common areas.
- If an employee tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately notify state and local health departments and cooperate with contact tracing efforts, including notification of potential contacts, such as employees or visitors who had close contact with the individual, while maintaining confidentiality required by state and federal law and regulations.
When you arrive at the office:
- Please arrive with a mask on.
- We want to keep any waiting in the waiting area to a minimum, but if you would feel more comfortable waiting in the hallway, please call Jesse and tell her you have arrived.
- If you are over the age of 18, please come to your appointment by yourself. Please do not bring additional children or family members to appointments at this time. We love to see all of them, but we are trying to reduce the total number of people in our office at one time.
- We have installed a clear barrier for better protection during our patient and administrative team interactions.
- Before your visit we will check your temperature with a no-touch thermometer.
COVID-19 Symptom Checker
Before your appointment, please read through this list of questions:
1. Do you have a fever, or have you felt hot or feverish recently (14-21 days)?
2. Are you having shortness of breath or other difficulty breathing?
3. Do you have a cough?
4. Are you experiencing any other flu-like symptoms, such as gastrointestinal upset, headache, or fatigue?
5. Have you experienced a recent loss of taste or smell?
6. Have you had contact with any confirmed COVID-19 positive patients? Patients who are well, but who have a sick family member at home, should postpone treatment.
If you can answer yes to any of these questions, please postpone your appointment.
We want to reassure you that our practice remains a safe place for you and your family and we look forward to seeing you again and providing the best care possible.
Warmest Regards,
The staff at Eastside Optometric, PC
