The WHO has a new Global Traditional Medicine Centre. In the spring I was invited to apply for one of the positions, either full-time or as a consultant. I did not want to move back to India after restarting my clinical practice of integrative medicine here.

Today I just got the news that I was accepted to the roster of WHO consultants! First I thanked my mom and dad for their role in making me what I am. Then I realized I am beyond happy, and quite humbled to work among the other leaders of global health and research in traditional and ancient medical systems.

For decades I have been ostracized by MD physicians in the USA because I seek medicines that work, even outside the mainstream medical system. When I give them to patients, and the medicines work, lives are changed. I am grateful to have learned these skills from master healers. But for years I have also been ostracized by ayurvedic doctors who see me as an outsider. It is my ardent hope that the Global Traditional Medicine Center is truly a place where I can share all I have learned and contribute to a group of healers.

It’s Purnima (Full Moon) today. The moonlight (jyotsna) shines into the window and onto my payasam. I woke up feeling unable to call mu guru, and a sense of sadness that I could not go sit at his feet. He appeared suddenly in my heart, asking, what do you need to ask?, in his usual sharp way. All answers came. He is here, channeling his wisdom from that place of eternal connection and eternal blessing. Amazing Grace.

Today I started a workshop I created and adore called The Dhatu of Woman. We take women through 12 stages of life and teach basic ayurvedic principles slong the way, embodying the wisdom, somatisizing the knowledge.
Women transform during the workshop, going into their dhatus and pulling meaning out of the crevices and broken agni.
It is such a privilege to do this work, to help women heal, while teaching logic and tuning in to the heart at the same time as teaching principles of neuroscience and molecules, biochemistry and how the body works.

Aggravated pitta and a misaligned svatisthana chakra makes us hungry for s*x not intimacy. Interrupted girlhood makes the muladhara in need to healing and creates dyspareunia, constipation, and relationship issues.
So much to connect and to learn about our dhatus.

since the beginning of my medical career, one of my biggest concerns has been healthcare access. … not access to the disease management environment, but to the actual tools that help heal the whole body.
The disease management environment is the hospital and the healthcare system that sees health as a business, and profits greatly from all who are forced to seek medical intervention. I worked in the world’s best hospitals for nearly 18 years, everyday as a physician, and while I helped many people, I watched many burn out and many die.

What I want to emphasize is access to health.
For Everyone.

Coming soon is an online consultation platform with a resounding reservoir of holistic wisdom, and collection of relevant information and holistic medicines and interventions for 120 diseases.

Can it help people find a path toward their own health solutions, guided by doctors licensed in human health sciences? Can it provide the information that people are seeking in a private way to guide themselves, with just a little help? Is the database realistically helpful when it is online and remote from in-person communication?

The scientific evidence shows that especially for disabled or rural people, online health consultations are immense tool for real access to health.

Holistic health approaches are not only preventive but interventive and can be empowering, affordable, and life-changing.

In exploring online consultation platforms, I am engaging a group of 20 doctors seeking to become the best communicators and teachers of holistic health. Wish me luck. We will be launching soon and then you’ll get to see the fruits of our efforts, to serve you and inspire you toward optimal health.

Tomorrow we will be starting DIN Masterclasses Quarter 27.

We will be beginning the study of JWARA, known on the body level as FEVER, and on the cellular level as inflammation. There are many theories and interpretations of the classic Sanskrt texts, and we will delve into the inception of disease, known in biomedical terms as pathogenesis.

Come join us for an open lecture that introduces the classic ayurveda texts and how to learn about Jwara.
