I’m grateful to share that I’ve been recognized as a 2025 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, an honor based on peer nominations and physician review.

This week we celebrate PA week, which recognizes the physician assistant profession and its contributions to the medical community. We are so grateful for Elissa and Molly who go above and beyond for our patients. Thank you for all that you do!

A bit about Molly: a native of Trumbull, Connecticut. She graduated from the Weill Cornell Physician Assistant Masters degree program. She first joined the HSS family in 2016 working on the inpatient unit, and transitioned to Dr. McLawhorn’s practice in 2017.

A bit about Elissa: a native of Ridgefield, CT. She graduated from Pace University-Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant Program. Elissa first joined the HSS family in 2019 and joined Dr. McLawhorn’s practice in 2021.

HSS is a home of kind, caring, straightforward, reassuring, confident, results-oriented professionals.

I was in pain for years and my right hip was not getting any better with all that I tried. Because of the pain and discomfort my life was becoming more and more difficult. My work and my hobbies, my sleep and recovery, my life as I knew was taxed by the ongoing pain.

On March 6th, 2022 will be two years since I had my right hip resurfaced. Since I ran over 30 virtual races, two half marathons, two marathons, and did two triathlons. I am planning to race in at least 10 road races this year as well as run the NYC Marathon in November.

I am sure non of the above would happen if I did not have a surgery. I am very thankful to my surgeon, Alexander McLawhorn, MD. I will do all I can to keep his name known and keep him proud of his masterful work.
