The Hellenic Medical Society, in collaboration with Cosmos FM New York 91.5 Hellenic Public Radio, is proud to bring you the radio series, “COSMOS HEALTH – Η ΥΓΕΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΚΟΣΜΟΥ” airing on the first Saturday of every month from 2:00–3:00 PM ET. The program is broadcast in Greek…with the occasional Greenglish, of course.

We are especially grateful to our friends at Cosmos FM, and to our dedicated HMS physicians, Dr. Antonia Ann Kolokathis, Dr. George Liakeas and Dr. Fani Orfanelli who generously volunteer their time to bring these meaningful and timely health conversations to our community.

The mission of COSMOS HEALTH is to raise awareness around common health issues and empower listeners with knowledge that can improve and save lives. Each episode features engaging discussions with distinguished Greek-American doctors and healthcare professionals, focusing on prevention, early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment options while promoting healthier lifestyles overall.

HMS 2026 Scholarship Program Is Live

For 90 years, HMS has served as a home for excellence, mentorship and opportunity. For over five decades, the scholarship program, founded through the vision of Dr. Marinos Petratos, has helped transform ambition into achievement, supporting generations of students as they pursue careers in medicine and research.

What began as one man’s belief in the potential of young people has grown into a powerful and enduring legacy thanks to your support. Many scholarship recipients have gone on to distinguished careers and continue to give back to HMS as mentors, leaders, and donors, creating a lasting cycle of support within the community.

HMS extends its deepest gratitude to all donors, supporters and alumni who make this program possible.

The final application deadline is July 1, 2026 (no exceptions). Applicants are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and submit all materials in advance.

The community is encouraged to help spread the word about the Scholarship Program and support the next generation of medical leaders.

Our mentors had an incredible time connecting with participants at this weekend’s National Hellenic Student Association (NHSA) of America Convention. We left inspired by the passion, curiosity, and ambition of the next generation.

We are deeply proud of the NHSA leadership, and of the remarkable young men and women who traveled from across the U.S. and Canada to be part of this experience. A special moment for us was seeing our HMS Young Professionals share their unique career journeys and offer meaningful, real-world advice.
