Patient underwent deep plane facelift / necklift / platysmaplasty / blepharoplasty / laser resurfacing shown 6 months post. Note jawline definition and invisible scars allowing patient to wear her hair up and preservation of hair to avoid pulled appearance. Vertical vectors allow a natural outcome and prevents eye or mouth distortion.

43 yo patient who underwent lower deep plane facelift / necklift and upper eyelift. Patient is shown 1 year post. She mainly wanted to improve her jawline and loose neck and jowls. A midline platysmaplasty was also performed to tighten her neck cords.

51 yo patient who is shown 1 week after deep plane facelift / neck lift and midline platysmaplasty suspension. She was a good candidate for a deep plane due to her excessive jowling and poorly defined jawline and she was a candidate for the deep necklift and platysmaplasty due to excess fat deep to muscle in midline of neck. 1 day after male deep neck lift and a partial lower facelift and rhinoplasty in a 42 year old male. Men are very focused on their necks and jawline when it comes to facial surgery . This man underwent a deep muscle lift , central muscle platysmaplasty and is minimally bruised on day #1. Will continue to update as he recovers more but patients always ask us how will I look the next day.

55 yo patient who is shown 1 week after deep plane facelift with extended deep muscle elevation in neck to define jawline, eliminate cords and improve jowling and neck cords. This was done without drains. I published first original article on this deep plane facelift with tissue glue and without using a drain nearly 12 years ago in Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery. This technique Was shown to have a more rapid recovery with use of tissue sealants instead of a drain , less pain, less scarring and a more rapid recovery .

45 year old patient who felt her jawline was losing definition and jowls were sagging . Patient underwent a deep plane vertical facelift to define jawline and lift loose muscles in face and neck. She is shown at 1 year post surgery. Most of our patients for facelifts are private but some allow us to share with covering eyes and we thank our patient for allowing us to share with covered eyes. It is quite common for patients at this age to want to address this lack of definition in jawline.

Patient is shown after revision rhinoplasty #4 with rib bank cartilage shown 10 years post-surgery . Patient came in with both her teenage daughters for rhinoplasty and it’s always great to see a long term follow up on a complicated revision nose. Revision rhinoplasty is arguably the most complicated procedure in facial plastic surgery and we are grateful we can restore form and function for patients.

55 yo male who wanted a more defined jawline underwent a deep plane facelift / deep necklift and platysmaplasty with deep removal of fat from under muscle in midline. Patient is shown with minimal bruising at 2 weeks after surgery . There was no drain used . Most of this patient’s midline fat was under muscle ( platysma ) which is why a platysmaplasty was necessary in midline. Most male facelifts come in specifically for the neck ( not the face ) but it is necessary to lift the jowl in face along with neck lift to define the jawline.

45 yo patient who wanted a more defined natural jawline underwent deep plane facelift and neck lift and midline platysmaplasty: no drains were used and patient is shown 2 weeks after surgery with minimal scarring around ears and minimal bruising . She is very happy as we are . Facelifts can be done in a vector of elevation where the mouth and eyes are not distorted and that is a more vertical direction . Not every patient requires a deep plane facelift and a SMAS lift is indicated in some patients . Dr Rizk customizes the procedure to patient’s face , degree of aging and anatomy .

55 yo female who underwent revision deep plane facelift and necklift - shown 12 hours after surgery . Jawline is cleaner and neck / jowl laxity addressed . It’s important to do a tight neck with facelifts because necks loosen first . A loose neck and tight face does not look good. My philosophy is a tight neck is a natural neck and a defined jawline is a youthful appearance but an overly tight face does not look natural .
