And when we’re stressed, most of us are more apt to make emotional food choices to soothe our mood.
The cycle of unhealthy eating can be a vicious one.

Did you know that having too many unhealthy, pro-inflammatory Omega-6 fats in your diet is driving up INFLAMMATION and SUPPRESSING your IMMUNE SYSTEM.
These BAD fats clog your blood vessels and inflame your brain 🧠, and make your immune system have to work harder.
For example, if you’re dealing with high blood pressure, you don’t have a deficiency of blood pressure medication. You have INFLAMMATION, and it’s certainly NOT from too much cholesterol.
In fact, in a 2016 study from the British Medical Journal, researchers looked at a cholesterol-lowering diet that replaced SATURATED FAT with these inflammatory Omega-6 fats (from soy, corn, & processed foods)...
The results showed that for every 30-point drop in total cholesterol, there was a 22% higher risk of death!
Saturated fats such as coconut 🥥 oil have been shown to raise HDL cholesterol (that’s good!) and raise total cholesterol.
Now, most people have been led to believe that higher cholesterol is bad, and we can thank most of our doctors and pharmaceutical companies for this.
But here’s the truth - HIGHER cholesterol levels are actually associated with longevity and lower cancer rates!
A study from the Journal of Epidemiology which had 47,000 participants concluded this - the HIGHEST DEATH RATE was observed in the group with the LOWEST cholesterol (under 160)...
And the LOWEST DEATH RATE observed was with those whose cholesterol was between 200-259!
Most doctors would put you on a statin drug with these numbers, and they’re removing the very thing that your body put in place to save your life - cholesterol protects your cells!
So, eat more healthy fats, less animal protein (especially when it’s not grass fed/pasture raised), keep your carbs low, and take a good quality Omega-3 Fish Oil supplement.

I read this from my good friend Dr. Jane Goldberg at and thought it was very fitting.
Just like when we are so stressed with work and life and poor diet, and burning the candle at both ends, the universe usually brings something to us to SLOW us down, so the body can HEAL.
You lye in bed for a few days, and you don’t want to eat, because it’s all about energy diversion.
Our body’s will ALWAYS prioritize where it needs to spend it’s energy, and it innately knows exactly how to do that. And you heal, and come out stronger and better for it.
I don’t think everything happens for a reason, but I DO think that we can draw positivity and opportunity from every uncertain situation.
Here’s what I am certain of. It’s time to reconnect. It’s time to slow down and heal our body’s, our health, and our relationships. It’s time to work SMARTER, not harder. Its time to spend LESS time on our phones, and more time connecting with our children and loved ones. It’s time to help others who are desperately in need, anyway you can. It’s time to unite, clean up the environment, and heal this earth that needs US more than ever.

Did you know that stress causes more inflammation in your body than anything bad you can eat or drink!?!
Among all the factors contributing to poor health, immune suppression, and premature aging, stress is perhaps the most pernicious.
As a result, you may be marinating in corrosive stress hormones around the clock, and this can have serious consequences, from adding stubborn fat to your belly to elevating your blood pressure, and making you feel physically sick.
When stress increases in our lives, we MUST increase our SELF-CARE and be more proactive with our health, otherwise, the stress will take us out.
Today, I did one of my FAVORITE protocols to manage stress, so that my stress doesn’t manage me.
I did a 20-minute session to calm down my brain, down regulate my inflammation, center and ground myself, and move my breathing into a deeper, more diaphragmatic state.

Your body requires 3 main nutrients for energy; protein, carbs, and fats.
When people begin a diet, their first instinct is usually to eliminate fat, but this is the BIGGEST mistake one can make...
Fat has almost twice the amount of energy than the other two nutrients. And if you don’t have (healthy) fat in your diet, your body will not have enough energy to BURN fat.
Your body needs the energy to maintain its metabolism, and consuming foods high in fat will increase your metabolic rate.
When you eat a low-fat diet, you are conditioning your body to not burn fat!
This type of diet actually causes your body to burn SUGAR as your primary source of fuel, which increases INFLAMMATION, and stresses and imbalances your HORMONES!

You hear me quite often talking about how important nutrition and detoxification is...
But there’s something even MORE important - a healthy NERVOUS SYSTEM!
Chiropractic care is NOT about treating the aches and pains, cricks and strains (though we help a lot of people with those!)...
It’s about making sure you live your life with a fully functioning nervous system! It’s about feeling good, but it’s also about longevity, flexibility, and FUNCTION.
For example, you’re not going to wait for a toothache to go to the dentist - as we all know that cavities are silent, and the day before you felt the pain, the cavity 🦷 was there.
Same goes for your spine! Don’t wait for the pain to get your spines checked, and especially for your kids! There’s a saying, as the twig grows, so grows the tree!
Both my children were adjusted 10 minutes after they were born, NOT because they had pain, but because the first subluxation (misalignment of the spine) begins at birth!
