My beautiful mom Pearl passed away peacefully yesterday at the age of 94. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother,
an accomplished professional and was devoted to Judaism and to Israel. Growing up in Brooklyn, she attended Brooklyn College and then received her Master's degree at St. John's University in Library Science. She helped establish Operation HeadStart in NYC for underprivileged children and then became the school librarian at Ridgewood HS in Queens, NY. Pearl was most proud of establishing the Jewish Heritage Collection at the Jewish Museum in NYC focusing on Jewish life and on The Holocaust. Mom loved traveling the world with my father Marcus and she loved her animals. Many of you have seen her in my office through the years dressed in her jeans outfits! With her big smile and huge heart, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her, most especially by her sons, Michael and Warren.
