FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER JOB DESCRIPTION

Become a meaningful part of a well-established and successful primary care team. This proactive community health center is all about caring for its patients and continuously evolving to meet their needs. They are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide the highest quality health care to patients of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay. This position is located in a state of the art facility. They are offering a competitive compensation plan that includes two bonus programs, excellent benefits, and two potential loan repayment programs.

FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER RESPONSIBILITIES

Obtains histories and physical examination information from patient and other sources as needed to make a diagnosis. Conducts screenings to include various diagnostic testing as needed
Responsible for interpreting the results of diagnostic testing and providing feedback to patient and/or designated family members
Responsible for prescribing various treatment modalities, including but not limited to, medications, injections, wellness counseling,
Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans.

FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER REQUIREMENTS

License or ability to obtain a license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the state of Rhode Island
2 years’ experience as a NP
Excellent communication skills
Prior community health experience a plus

This well-respected Community Health Center is guided by a commitment to excellence and compassionate care for all. The Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in providing primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population.



NURSE PRACTITIONER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Compassionate and Comprehensive outpatient primary care services including but not limited to well and sick visits
Providing immunizations, STI and common infections treatment, and education
Diagnosing patient injury/illness and providing appropriate treatment and education
Managing complex medical issues within the scope of internal medicine practices; including but not limited to diagnosis and treatment of Diabetes, HIV, Hepatitis, and Tuberculosis
Reviewing medical histories, interpreting diagnostic tests and labs
Monitoring and ensuring patient satisfaction
Facilitating appropriate utilization of the healthcare system and encouraging appropriate follow-up care
NURSE PRACTITIONER REQUIREMENTS:



Experience in community and public health
Comfortable with supporting LGBTQ+ population as well as individuals with substance abuse disorders (OBAT)
Commitment and interest in working with multicultural and impoverished populations
Primary or Secondary language skills in: Portuguese or Spanish (not required)
