Why I encourage weekly journaling…. Every week, we take a dedicated pause for meaningful reflection and deep self-care through the simple act of journaling.

What is Mindful Thursdays?

This series is designed to help you get to know yourself better and move toward the life you want. I use thoughtful prompts to explore feelings, connect with your values, and discover the inner strength you already have. It’s a supportive space focused on your personal growth and well-being.

The Power of Journaling

Journaling is one of the easiest, most powerful tools you can use right now to improve your mental health. It’s like having a helpful conversation with yourself:

💚 Helps You Understand Yourself: It gets you out of autopilot and helps you see what truly makes you happy, what causes you stress, and why you do what you do. This is the first step toward real change.

💛Reduces Stress and Worry: When you write down confusing or stressful thoughts, you take them out of your head and put them safely on the page. This simple act can calm your mind and help you feel less overwhelmed.

🧡Helps You Find Solutions: Writing forces you to be clear about what you need. It helps you stop feeling stuck and start seeing the small, practical steps you can take today to feel better or solve a problem.

🧘‍♀️ Mindful Thursdays: Honoring the Body

In the rush of life, it’s easy to treat our bodies like a vehicle we rarely stop to appreciate. This week, let’s ground ourselves in gratitude for the physical vessel that carries our consciousness and enables our experience.

From an existential perspective, our health and physical capacities are foundational to how we show up in the world and actualize our potential. They are the primary tools through which we engage in meaning-making.

Journaling Deep Dive:

✨Acknowledge the Effortless: Take 60 seconds for each of your three chosen actions to be fully present with the sensations. This isn’t just a list—it’s a moment of mindful appreciation for biological coordination.

✨Health as Empowerment: Reflect on how your physical capacity allows you to connect with others, pursue your goals, and manage distress. Recognizing this resource fosters greater self-awareness and personal growth.

✨A Word of Thanks: This is a chance to move beyond the surface and genuinely thank a limb, organ, or sense for its tireless work. How can you be a better steward of this part in the week ahead?

This isn’t just a quote; it’s part of the foundation of my practice and my mission.

My work goes beyond the therapy room. I am dedicated to providing integrative, culturally humble care to marginalized and vulnerable populations, addressing the systemic factors that impact their well-being. But true change requires more than just one voice.

That’s why a core part of my mission is training, developing, and supporting the next generation of clinicians through ethical gatekeeping. We must ensure that future therapists are grounded in social justice and multicultural principles. We are building a more equitable, empowered, and humanistic profession, one clinician at a time.

Me..? I like to cook, create, organize and listen to music- y si sale un a bachatica buena tirar unos pasitos solita en la cocina.

This week was the first week in a year that I have felt hopeful and optimistic of the future and I’m transforming that energy into action and that’s exciting!

Tips for navigating parent child relationships in therapy:

1. Be honest, the child is also a human talk to them about the process don’t sugar coat it and come up with a plan

2. Help the parent brainstorm ideas to address the problem behavior, give tips on how to remain calm even when angry

3. Offer resources whether it’s you assisting the conversation or family therapy, give them a positive and productive way to improve on the situation.

Sometimes, the path forward feels hazy. That’s why we’re taking a moment to tune into our hopes and create a bridge from now to next.

Grab your journal and try this visualization exercise:

The Future Self Letter 💌:

🔮Visualize the version of you six months from now—focus on how they feel and the values they embody.
📝Write a short letter from that future self to your present self.
🧿What is the one essential piece of wisdom they need you to hear right now to keep moving with hope?
