These are the kinds of things that amaze me about the human and and . For scale, on the left is cerebellar cortex, and those folia are approximately 3mm. But turn your attention to the teal circle...look at how delicate those vessels are. Not only does this underscore how careful we should be with our , but imagine the skill of the who operates in such a small space, taking care not to rupture these vessels.

I enjoy when I have time to photograph such things as this, and I get to see this glory every day. It's been nearly 20 years but it never ceases to amaze me.
