The CollabOasis Peer Consultation Groups offer closed, facilitated groups of 6-8 fully licensed clinicians who meet virtually twice a month to get consultation on cases, discuss ethics, get business tips and resources, and most importantly, have a safe place to find support and connection with colleagues. There is also a members-only FB group which provides a wrap-around community, social wellness opportunities and additional resources so therapists can continue doing the work they love without loneliness or burnout. The focus of this community is on supporting each other and creating a place of benevolence to establish trust and build each other up.

Loving the freedom of solo or online practice doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. It’s normal to miss the camaraderie — the quick check-ins on a tough day, the second set of eyes on a tricky case, the feeling that someone’s in it with you.

That’s exactly what CollabOasis Clinical Consultation Groups offer: a supportive space to connect, consult, and not feel so isolated in the work you love.

You can have both — independence and community.

In this episode of The Colleague Down the Hall Podcast, my colleagues and I dive into a complex case involving adolescent therapy, culture, and ethics. We explore the challenges of working with teens when parents are skeptical about mental health treatment, and how cultural identity and systemic factors shape both the client’s and the family’s experiences.

We also unpack the delicate balance between maintaining confidentiality—especially around substance use—and ensuring client safety. This conversation highlights how understanding family dynamics, cultural context, and our own biases is essential for ethical and effective care.

It’s a thoughtful discussion about real-world challenges therapists face and the importance of peer consultation in navigating them with care and integrity.

Our work is hard. Like, really hard sometimes. And it can feel even heavier when we don't see immediate results or clear signs that we’re making a difference.

But you are. 💛

On those rough days—the ones that leave you drained or doubting—please reach out. Your colleagues get it. They see your heart, your effort, your impact.

We weren’t meant to do this alone. Therapists NEED community. Let yourself be supported, too. 🫶

🎙️ Episode 76 is here—and it’s one so many of us can relate to.

In this episode of Colleague Down the Hall, I’m diving into the topic of imposter syndrome in private practice. Even with years of experience and success, those feelings of self-doubt can sneak in and make us question whether we really belong. And yes—I’ve been in the field for over 30 years, and I still find myself experiencing it.

I share practical strategies like creating a “book of evidence” to remind yourself of your strengths and an “imposter syndrome survival kit” you can turn to when doubt shows up. We’ll also talk about the power of community, self-compassion, and self-care—because imposter syndrome loses its grip when we name it and work through it together.

If you’ve ever felt like a fraud (even though you’re not!), this episode will give you tools to ground yourself, reclaim your confidence, and keep showing up for your clients and community.

There are lots of thoughts about this. If you are struggling with this, take a look at your values and reach out to peers. And if you have a different opinion, that's ok as long as we maintain a respectful dialog.
