One Problem At A Time (1PAAT)

One Problem At A Time (1PAAT) Even if you're broke, you can afford to responsibly invest in a better tomorrow. We look forward to having you join the effort!

1PAAT: Saving the World One Problem At A Time www.1PAAT.org Alone, 50 cents isn't much, but get a lot of people to contribute 50 cents and collectively we can have a huge impact! 1 Problem at a Time (1PAAT) was a finalist in the 2011 Columbia Venture Competition and is a social venture that displays one specific community development related issue at a time on its website.1PAAT financially sponsors this specific cause and another sponsored issue is not showcased until the money has been raised to fund and solve the previous problem. Whether it's a need to build latrines for a health clinic in rural Haiti, or to educate kids in Ghana about how learning engineering can improve their community, no problem is too big or too small for 1PAAT to tackle. 1PAAT thrives off of the idea that small contributions can have a huge impact; 1PAAT members pay as little as 50 cents a month and members have the opportunity to recommend the next issue 1PAAT will sponsor. The goal is to have 1 million people within 5 years register with 1PAAT, funding $500,000 a month for specific charitable causes supported by hundreds of different non-profit organizations.

Meet Ben Simon. He started the Food Recovery Network in 2011 after learning that 22 million pounds of food are thrown out every year on college campuses. FRN uses college chapters to recover prepared food from their dining halls and delivers it to soup kitchens or shelters in their communities.
