Prime Minister Narendra Modi solemnly paid tribute to Dr. Namperumalsamy Sir, In his heartfelt message, he acknowledged Dr. Namperumalsamy Sir’s lifelong devotion to service, describing him as “a guiding light in the field of vision sciences.” Through tireless service, he built a legacy rooted in accessibility, excellence, and selfless care—empowering the blind to see, and the world to witness his impact.

As the nation mourns his loss, it also celebrates the brilliance he brought into being. His legacy continues to live on through every life he touched and every vision he helped restore.

In Loving Memory of Dr. P. Namperumalsamy

Today, we mourn the loss of **Dr. P. Namperumalsamy (09.07.1940 – 24.07.2025)**, a visionary leader, pioneering ophthalmologist, and beloved Chairman Emeritus of Aravind Eye Care System.

Dr. Namperumalsamy, fondly known as Dr. PN, was a founding pillar of Aravind Eye Care System, transforming it into a world-renowned institution dedicated to combating blindness and making quality eye care accessible to millions.

His dedication extended far beyond science and medicine—he championed compassionate care for all, regardless of background or ability to pay. As a mentor, leader, and lifelong learner, he fostered an environment of innovation, collaboration, and selfless service that will continue to light the way for others.

May his vision, values, and selfless spirit endure, guiding generations to come. Our deepest condolences to his family, the Aravind family, and the extended medical community. Thank you, Dr. PN, for a life extraordinarily lived and a vision that continues to inspire.
