I borrowed this quote (with permission!) from a client who realized the hard way that “fun” foods like candy, ice cream, pizza, and fried foods can wreak havoc on your gut and skin. 🎉➡️😩

Sure, they’re fun to eat—but when they lead to gut distress and crazy breakouts, the fun ends fast!

There’s a powerful connection between gut health and acne, known as the gut-skin axis. 💡 Research shows:

-Gut imbalances can trigger systemic inflammation, leading to acne.

-Processed foods can cause leaky gut, allowing toxins into the bloodstream and causing breakouts.

-High-glycemic foods (🍩🍟🍕) spike insulin, causing hormonal imbalances and excess oil production.

-Dairy 🥛 increases IGF-1, which also boosts sebum and contributes to acne.

So, what’s the takeaway? It’s not about cutting all the “fun” foods, but rather limiting them, especially if they upset your gut. Focus on whole foods 🥑🥗 most of the time, and enjoy the occasional treat without overdoing it.

🌟 Client Spotlight: Sarah’s Journey to Clear Skin! 🌟

Sarah overcame what she thought was “hormonal” acne without directly altering her hormone levels. Discover more on her story below, and swipe to see her transformation and read her testimonial!

Many clients, like Sarah, initially believe they’re dealing with hormonal acne, especially when breakouts worsen during PMS or their menstrual cycle.

Yes, hormonal acne is real, and I do check hormone levels when necessary. However, most of my clients find success without directly targeting their hormones. We start with key changes in diet and lifestyle to naturally balance hormones. Here are my top three tips to kickstart your journey:

🍽️ Consistent Meals: Eating three balanced meals a day—and a snack if needed—helps stabilize your blood sugar. This balance is crucial as it supports overall hormone regulation, aiding in clearer skin.

🌙 Sleep & Stress Management: Regular sleep patterns and effective stress relief are vital. They help lower cortisol levels, which otherwise can spike your blood sugar and disrupt hormonal balance, leading to breakouts. Sarah, for instance, improved her sleep habits and stopped eating in the middle of the night—a change that significantly helped normalize her hormone levels.

🌿 Switch to Cleaner Products: Many household and personal care products contain xenoestrogens, which mimic estrogen and can disrupt your hormonal balance. I help my clients transition to cleaner, natural products, reducing the body’s toxic load and easing the skin’s detoxifying burden.

Recently, a potential client asked if I could guarantee that she would be acne-free after my program. She said, “I NEED this to work. I am tired of investing in practitioners that don’t help my skin.”

This mindset, expecting the practitioner alone to fix her acne, is often why nothing has worked for her before.

I understand the frustration. Many of my clients have achieved amazing success, completely clearing their breakouts and scarring. When you join a program like mine, you’re right to expect expertise and quality service.

But remember, the true change agent in this journey is YOU.

Clearing your acne isn’t just about what I do; it’s about how you embrace the process. Taking ownership of your daily habits and the changes you implement is crucial.

This is your POWER. Don’t give it away by thinking that merely investing in a program is enough.

This journey is a partnership. Your investment signifies a commitment not just to a program, but to a transformative process. What you learn from me will empower you to maintain and improve your skin health long-term.

Live your life as the protagonist of your own story. ACT, don’t just react. This proactive approach will be how YOU achieve a true transformation in YOUR skin health through this program.

🥗 Clear Skin Salad Boost: Discover how Miso Fights Acne! 🥗

Your current “clean” or “healthy” diet alone will NOT get you to your optimal clear, acne free skin.

(and NO removing ALL the fun, delicious foods you LOVE is NOT the answer)

I have had SO many clients tell me:

“Robin I eat so healthy, and I have no gut issues...”
HEALTHY isn’t the issue.

The fact of the matter is, foods you are NOT eating ARE the issue. I like to call these “functional foods”.

One client of mine had never even heard of “functional foods”. Once she began to add a couple of them into her daily meals (miso and flax) her skin began to clear faster and GLOW.

Today I want to focus on one particular functional food: MISO! Here are its top 3 skin benefits:

🌟 Probiotic Power - Rich in gut-friendly bacteria, miso supports digestive health, crucial for clear skin via the gut-skin connection.

🌿 Anti-inflammatory - Its isoflavones reduce inflammation that can lead to acne.

🔍 Antioxidant-Rich - Fights oxidative stress, protecting your skin from damage and breakouts.

Quick Tip: Mix miso with olive oil and apple cider vinegar for a tasty, skin-boosting dressing!

Swipe for my favorite miso dressing as part of an acne-clearing meal! Follow me more more acne-clearing tips!!

If you are looking to solve your acne by finding the prescription medication that is the “right fit” for your acne…..

Then THAT’s the reason you aren’t getting that clear complexion that you desperately desire.

There IS a solution. You CAN achieve that clear skin.

But if you keep cycling through “band-aid”options, you will be spinning your wheels while you COULD be focusing on these three things:

1. Eating habits to improve digestion & clear skin
2. Topical products that reduce sebum & decrease inflammation
3. Supplements that aid in the above process

SIX years

My client suffered with acne for six years. She turned to Accutane at her dermatologist’s recommendation as a last resort. She stayed on it for 6 months with zero change. She was constantly covering her entire face with tons of concealer and foundation.

Then….she was referred to me by her doctor. After 3 months on my program, she no longer had ANY active acne. There are many changes we made to her diet, products, supplements, and daily habits.

One particular important change for her was discontinuing all her toxic makeup and personal products. We replaced them with clean, noncomedogenic items. You see….it’s not that these items were causing the acne BUT they were adding fuel to that acne “fire” or inflammation, and likely even affecting hormone levels, thus making it all worse.

If I could give you one FREE (but not necessarily immediately easy) tip that you can use to help treat breakouts, it would be this:
Follow your !
What IS circadian rhythm? In simple terms, it is the mental, behavioral, and physical changes that the body experiences in a 24-hour cycle. Light and darkness exert the biggest influence over circadian rhythm. Our bodies are meant to wake up with the sun and go to sleep in the dark.
When you wake up too early, too late, take afternoon naps, go to bed too late, and/or experience chronic sleep deprivation, you can exacerbate acne. All of these things can increase inflammation, increase or disrupt cortisol levels, and/or increase sebum (oil) production in the skin. These, in turn, elevate acne risk.
So where can you start?
1. Establish regular wake and sleep routines.
2. Wake up with or shortly after sunrise and get at least 10 minutes of morning light exposure.
3. Avoid afternoon naps.
4. Set up a bedtime routine, incluidng powering down screens and hour before sleep and making sure your bedroom is dark.
5. Aim for at least 7 hours of continuous sleep at night to help restore/heal skin.
