Caregivers are the heart of healthcare.

They bring dignity, comfort, and strength to older adults who want to age at home. They give families peace of mind. They keep communities strong.

But here’s the reality: 90% of older adults want to age at home, yet nearly half of direct care workers struggle on public assistance to make ends meet. In 2022, home care turnover hit 77%, leaving painful gaps in the support so many families rely on.

At Mobile Health, we recognize that caregivers need more. That’s why we’re highlighting their stories and encouraging solutions that solve the systemic challenges they face.

Caregiving isn’t just a job; it’s the backbone of healthcare.

“Caregivers are doing God’s work… but there aren’t enough systems and supports to take care of them.” – Paul Essner, Senior Managing Director, Risk Strategies.

When 57% of paid caregivers leave within their first 90 days, it’s a sign that our system has failed to support them. Behind that statistic are people carrying one of the heaviest responsibilities in healthcare, too often without the resources or recognition they deserve.

Paul’s words are a call to action: it’s time to value caregiving for what it truly is: essential, life-changing work that requires real investment.

"Caregivers are doing God’s work," shared Paul Essner, CFP®, CLU ChFC, Senior Managing Director at Risk Strategies, during our Caregiving Appreciation Event. But as Paul emphasized, there aren’t enough systems in place to support caregivers, too. 57% of paid caregivers leave within their first ...

Behind every statistic is a family waiting for care.

At our Caregiving Appreciation Event, panelist Al Cardillo shared some hard truths:

•Over the past 5 years, 188,000 New Yorkers in need of home health services were turned away because there simply weren’t enough caregivers.
•Almost 60% of home health agencies in New York are operating at a loss.

Caregiving is at the core of our lives, yet it remains undervalued and underrecognized.

If we want a healthier future, it begins by honoring caregivers and giving them the support they deserve.

Home health and personal care aides are the unsung heroes of caregiving, showing up every day with strength, compassion, and commitment.

At our Caregiving Appreciation Event, Jim Rolla reminded us that it’s time for these caregivers to be truly recognized for their tireless work, and that honoring their impact is how we build a stronger future.

Caregiving is love, sacrifice, and showing up every single day, often without recognition.

As filmmaker Chris Durrance shared at our Caregiving Appreciation Event & Exclusive Screening, caregiving touches nearly every family in America, but too often, the people doing this work are unseen.

The truth is:

•An estimated 50-100 million people are unpaid family caregivers.
•This means roughly 1/3 of the American population is actively involved in care.

Through his film, Chris is giving caregivers’ voices the visibility they deserve, reminding us that caregivers are the very future of healthcare.

As Matt Cauli shared during our panel at last week’s Caregiving Appreciation Event & Exclusive Screening, caregiving means being “on” from the moment you wake up until the moment you finally rest.

The role can be overwhelming and exhausting, but as Matt reminded us, it’s also deeply rewarding. His story highlighted the resilience, love, and strength that define caregiving, and why caregivers truly are the heart of healthcare.
