Bittersweet day at Penrose Dermatology. Josephine, our medical assistant, who has been with me since day is retiring! Please don’t go Jo!! You are the hardest working and best team player I have ever worked with. We will all miss her terribly, but wish her a relaxing and healthy retirement. Maybe we can get her back every now and then 😉

Big week at Penrose Dermatology celebrating 5 years in business!!! We also had a birthday celebration for Josephine, our dedicated medical assistant who has been with us since we opened our doors! And said good bye to Nicole, our wonderful receptionist who has been with us during her summers in college and all this past year. Good luck to a new and exciting future in the arts! Best of all, we had a visit from our youngest Penrose after her first day of school 😊

SUNSCREEN ALERT!!

Very important information regarding sunscreens. Many popular brands have certain lots that have been found to contain Benzene, a known carcinogen! See link below

Luckily some of the brands I recommend are on the safe list but not all sunscreens and lots were tested.

Stick with creams or lotions and brands like Aveeno, Coola, Supergoop!, Elta MD lotion (not spray) and Blue Lizard Baby (there are many more that are safe as can be found in the link.)

More importantly stay in the shade, avoid prolonged sun exposure from 10am to 2pm and wear sun protective clothing. I feel these habits are better than sunblock alone.
