A follower sent me this video, and honestly, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
This is a prime example of weight bias. The claim that people who are in “shape” (whatever is his perception as he is not a doctor nor trainer) are inherently “hard-working, disciplined, and have self-control with food” perpetuates harmful stereotypes.
To make matters worse, he goes on to suggest that someone’s appearance in “shape” tells you about their character, labeling them as “honest” and “reliable.” 🤮
Let me clarify something: being in “shape” does not make someone a better or more moral person. I’ve met plenty of people who are in “shape” but lack the qualities he’s praising—and the opposite is also true.
And I hate to break it to you, but my patients who achieve health and wellness with the help of weight loss medications are no less disciplined, hard-working, or deserving of respect than anyone else.
Let’s stop equating body size with morality, discipline, or worth. It’s not only inaccurate but also damaging to so many people.
And he has over 2 MILLION followers 🤦♀️🤦♀️
But my podcast episode with will beat his 🤞🏼
