We’re seeing a shift.
What used to be taboo is now sold as self-care.
But is it actually helping your mental health—or just giving you permission to check out?

🎧 In this episode of We Need To Talk, we unpack what the research says (and what it doesn’t).

You’re not using it to party.
You’re using it to unwind.
To sleep.
To take the edge off.
To make it through the day without snapping.

Let’s talk about what that actually means—and what it doesn’t.

In this episode of We Need To Talk, we’re unpacking the research behind this growing wellness trend.

🎧 New episode now live.

We need to talk about w**d.

Not the stoner stereotype—
I’m talking about professionals, parents, and people using cannabis to cope.

Is it self-care?
Or just another way we check out?

I sat down with Peter Barsoom, CEO of 1906, to unpack the science, the stigma, and whether low-dose cannabis can actually support mental health.

Spoiler: It’s not that simple.
We’re covering anxiety, sleep, mood, microdosing, and more.

🎧 Listen now. You will walk away with a more grounded take on cannabis and wellness.

30 years ago, reports of s*xually inappropriate behavior by Larry Nassar—then a physician for the Michigan State gymnastics team—started coming in.

But instead of protecting those students, MSU silenced the victims. Had anyone listened, hundreds of women could’ve been spared a serial s*xual predator.

Decades later, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina ensured that Nassar will spend the rest of his life in prison for his crimes.

She joined me on We Need To Talk with Dr. Darcy Sterling to talk about what it took—and what comes next.

In 2017, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina did something extraordinary. She let 150 survivors confront their abuser in court—and she listened.

That courtroom wasn’t just a legal proceeding. It was a reckoning. A chorus of voices refusing to be silenced.

It was a moment that helped transform from a hashtag into a global movement.

This week on We Need to Talk, I sit down with the woman behind the gavel. We talk about courage, justice, and what it means to hand power back to survivors.

When survivors speak up, are we ready to listen?

Too often, they’re met with disbelief, scrutiny, and retraumatization.

But in one Michigan courtroom, that changed.

Judge Rosemarie Aquilina didn’t just allow 150 survivors of Larry Nassar to speak—
She amplified them.
She believed them.
She made space for justice and healing in the same breath.

This week on We Need To Talk, we sit down with Judge Aquilina to unpack how she did it—and what the rest of us can learn about centering survivors in systems that so often silence them.

Date night isn’t broken—you just stopped treating it like a date.

Most of us let real life seep into what’s supposed to be romance.
Bills. Errands. Work stress. It all shows up with us.

But when we bring back the energy we had in the beginning—intentional, curious, prepared—that’s when the spark returns.

In this episode, we talk about the concept of Date Night Discipline—and why it changes everything.

Self-awareness is important—but it’s not enough.
You can know your triggers inside and out and still lose yourself in the moment.
The real test is what happens when the old pattern is triggered.

That’s hard-core emotional intelligence.
That’s deep work.

We get into all of this in this week’s episode of We Need To Talk.
