Inhale deeply from your diaphragm, while expanding your belly to allow air to sink down, allowing your chest and ribs to expand - ahhh, the Lungs are happy, do you feel it?. When we take in a new breath and expel an old one, there is a sense of revitalization in our entire being.

That is because the Lungs require space, and a deep breath creates that. The Lungs love space and nature. For example, children whose proximity to vegetation close to their homes increased in the first ten years of life tended to have better Lung health (recent research published by the European Lung Foundation).

What does clutter have to do with this? Clutter directly impacts the Lung system, something known in TCM and also now studied in modern medicine. Not only does clutter create more dust, dander, allergens that directly impact Lung function - but on an emotional level, clutter impacts one’s ability to let go. The Lungs take in the new while their partner, the Large Intestine expels waste. Our will to be open and let in the new when one chapter ends and let go to which no longer serves us is not only vital to our emotional stability but our physical bodies. This has to do with physical clutter as well. Many times if the colon is constipated, there can be a level of holding onto something that no longer serves you.

Other than clutter creating cortisol spikes and more stress in our lives, it has been studied that clutter can lead to an inability to focus, overeating, less-restful sleep and feelings of self-criticism.

Support your Lung system, your whole body and declutter, donate things that you no longer wear or need and organize your spaces to make them sacred. Thank your items, cut ties with your energy in those items and thank your new openings!

Traditionally, snow mushroom (snow fungus, 雪耳 Tremella fuciformis) requires a lot of preparation, soaking and cleaning it before use. I have been working to source a wild, top quality and easy to use snow fungus for myself and you. I am happy to announce that I have.

Have 1 teaspoon - 5 teaspoons daily. This snow fungus is ready to use. Just add it to your smoothies, soups, broths, congee, or teas to soak up all the incredible benefits of this revered fungus. Comment FUNGI below and I will send you a link to shop this amazing product. I have been adding it to my morning congee every day.

With a jelly-like texture and delicate flavor, Snow Mushroom is rich in polysaccharides that help the skin retain moisture, enhance elasticity, and restore a radiant glow from within. Beyond beauty, this powerful fungus supports immune resilience, circulation, and overall longevity, making it both a culinary delight and a potent adaptogen

We know that TCM and Ancient China loves snow fungus, so what does science say about it?
Powerful Moisturization & Hydration:
Tremella polysaccharides have been shown to retain moisture extremely well — helping skin stay hydrated, smooth, and elastic. They even outperform some traditional agents in supporting the skin’s moisture barrier [1]

Supports Immune Modulation & Anti-Inflammation
Research shows Tremella reduces inflammatory markers like nitric oxide (NO) and TNF-α in cell models (macrophages), suggesting it helps calm immune overreaction and inflammation [2].

Radiance & Anti-Ageing Effects
Snow Mushroom helps neutralize oxidative stress in skin fibroblasts (e.g. UVA damage), upregulates protective proteins such as SIRT1, and promotes collagen support — all of which are key to preserving youthful-looking skin PMID: 33858263,

Cognitive & Memory Support
In animal models, extracts of Tremella have reversed memory deficits induced experimentally, helped with learning tasks, and supported brain cell resilience — pointing toward potential benefits for mental clarity and longevity.

🌏 Comment NOURISH and I will send you the best tinctures to support the Spleen system.

How often do you check-in with yourself? How are your boundaries? Did you know that establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries is essential to a healthy digestive system?

Our Spleen is the nurturer of our bodies. It is our center, our “Mother Earth” , the organ which will take care of everything it can before taking care of itself. The Spleen is of special importance because it’s the boundary keeper in your physical body, so when Spleen energy is weak, think of it like leaky energy that can cause an inability to manage your energy and even things like your finances. When it is strong, leakage is preventable and Qi, Blood and fluids are strong.

Weak Spleen Qi can also impede your ability to focus, and cause you to overthink and worry. Make time during this seasonal transition to nourish yourself and ground.

📍Tips:
- Slow down! Breathe. Journal. Rest. Schedule your day ahead of time so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
- Eat a warming breakfast, check my reel from a few days ago.
- Focus on good ingredients with simple flavors. Bone broths, quality proteins, sweet potatoes, vegetables keep your body satisfied and act as fuel.
- Eat consistently. The amount and timing of meals should be similar daily. Optimal times are breakfast is before 10am, lunch 12pm and dinner at 6pm.
- Eat light at night! Make sure you have 3 hours to digest before bed. Not all food is ingested equally. The Kidney, Liver, Gallbladder systems are active at night, wanting to detox and rejuvenate the body. When you ingest food late, it hinders their function. Of course, life is busy and there are times this won’t work, but do it as often as possible.
- If you do intermittent fasting, do it at night rather than in the morning (eat lighter at night or an early dinner). Long term you are greatly damaging your Qi, Stomach, Spleen, and Blood.

Yes, the weight of the world is heavy. We must hold space for what is going on but also stay clear and calm, so that we don’t negatively impact our health.

You see, in Chinese medicine, there is a connection for every emotion. Even if you feel enraged with world events, your emotions shouldn’t permeate through to create more negativity in your life.

If you’ve found yourself grappling with road rage, a short temper or frequent bouts of irritability or feel a sense of an inexplicable heaviness on your shoulders with no sense of its origin, take a pause. In the realm of Chinese medicine, these emotions are intricately connected and often share underlying roots in the Liver. The Liver is the seat of all emotions and behind such emotions as frustration, resentment, jealousy.

😎 Comment CHILL and I will send you two formulas to help you find you calm, while supporting the Liver, your immunity and your entire well-being.

- Candida Relief can drain toxic heat which greatly impacts our gut and emotions.
- Cool and Calm gently harmonizes Yin and Yang, nourishes Blood, calms the Shen (our spirit), and supports the body’s natural defense against external illness.

During this time, eat foods like pears, steamed dishes and congee. Avoid overly spicy foods, greasy and fried foods and excess raw foods. Connect to the sunrise and sunset. Avoid blue light after dark.

Be well 🤍

⚖️How to help stress hormones with TCM? Comment BALANCE and I will send you the best herbs to help support this. Keep reading for lifestyle tips.

A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that participants who engaged in negative self-talk during a stress-inducing task had higher cortisol levels (a hormone associated with stress) than participants who engaged in positive self-talk. Study published in the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy found that negative self-talk was significantly related to symptoms of anxiety and depression. A study published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that negative self-talk was correlated with decreased self-esteem and a study published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology found that negative self-talk was associated with decreased cognitive performance (exemplified by a golf putting task).

- Support the Liver Qi: Practice daily movement like tai chi, qigong, or gentle yoga to keep energy flowing smoothly. Stretch the body as the Liver governs the tendons. Energy can get stuck and cause emotional stagnation, too.
- Honor Kidney Yin & Yang: Go to bed before 10 PM to preserve Jing (essence) and prevent adrenal (Kidney) depletion and allow the Liver to detox.
- Strengthen the Spleen & Stomach: Eat warm, cooked meals at regular times; avoid cold/raw foods and excessive sugar.
- Flow with nature: Align activities with the seasons (conserve energy in the Fall and Winter and move more in Spring).
- Acupressure: Stimulate points like LV3 (Liver 3), LI4 (Large Intestine 4), and Yintang to calm stress and regulate Qi. Google for their location.
-Prioritize yourself: Avoid overwork and overstimulation; schedule breaks and moments of stillness throughout the day
- Stay hydrated: Sip warm water or teas (try my Mei Cha tea or place drops of my Chrysanthemum, Red Dates and Goji Extract) to nourish Yin and prevent dryness.
- Express emotions: Journaling, art, or talking with loved ones helps prevent Liver Qi stagnation (the root of stress).

Our Spleen is especially nourished by foods that have warmth, sweet essences, and that are yellow/ orange in color. It is hurt by cold and raw foods, leftovers, and skipping meals.

🫚 🌏 Comment EARTH and I will send you a link to my ginger, red dates and beef liver products, to boost Spleen and Stomach function.

- In TCM, ginger is the most loved food for the Spleen because of its ability to build and supply Yang energy, which is our precious life force which depletes from our modern living environment.

- Foods such as root vegetables have a sweet essence that is completely nourishing for the Spleen and Stomach, the paired organ system that correlates to the Earth element and Late Summer. Processed sugar, however, further depletes Spleen energy, and is not what we aim for when we think of “sweet”.

- Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and root vegetables are especially loved by the Spleen. Foods grown in soil provide grounding and balancing for the body and mind. If you ever feel anxious try eating a sweet potato or any root vegetable and you may notice that you feel more calm and centered after.

The Spleen is also energized by foods that are warm in temperature. Imagine the digestive system as a cauldron, always liking to be fueled by fire. Over consumption of cold foods, raw foods and cold drinks put out this fire. When food is even only lightly cooked, the Stomach and Spleen don’t have to work as hard to break it down and use their Qi (vital energy).

- Congee is a great example of warmth. Rice porridge or congee is a food eaten in almost every culture because of its healing benefits to the digestion and the whole body. Check my pinned reel on how to make it.

- Beef is sweet and gives energy to the Spleen. Beef liver supports the process of making strong and plentiful Blood and Qi for the Spleen, supplying the whole body with energy.

-Red dates boost energy levels and enhance digestive health with immunity boosting and Qi and Blood support. They are eaten regularly in most Asian cultures because of their wide-range of benefits.

Happy Monday to you! We are starting off the week coming off of a beautiful Lunar Eclipse and feelings, both emotionally and physically, can be heightened.

Do you know that there is a reason for that?

Around the Full Moon, parasites increase movement in the host becoming an ideal breeding ground for these smart and stealth bugs— as they hide within the deep tissues of our organs. Did you know that almost every ancient culture would practice monthly parasite cleansing by deliberately taking certain herbs to control these problematic critters? Many of them still do!
If you feel unwell or feel your conditions becoming exacerbated during the week of the Full Moon you may want to take note of this “Moon Sickness”. Feelings like extreme cravings (especially for sugar), depression, insomnia, diarrhea, constipation and fatigue are signals you can use from your body to take control of your symptoms.

🌚 🌚 Comment “cleansing” and I will send you a link to my Lunar Cleansing where you use herbs strategically around the New and Full Moon to strengthen and drain toxins from the body.

🌚 Colon-tox + — targets bacteria, parasites; works on strengthening the body’s Yang to push out toxins; creates a strong host. This formula fights all “Jue Yin” diseases, which means Liver. It can include hypertension, chronic cough, itchy skin, Stomach pain and mouth sores.
🌚 Candida Relief + — good for people who are so stressed they are easily angered. Reduces damp heat that’s a sticky like residue which easily holds toxins and excess weight. Treats over a hundred symptoms.
🌚 Happy Colon — Happy Colon is a gentle cleanse designed especially for children (ages 2-15) to help rid of harmful pathogens while strengthening the body and helping digestion, circulation, and immunity. Treats digestive disorders; peptic ulcers; parasitic infections, hookworm, roundworm, biliary ascariasis; cold hands and feet.

The Lung organ system is all about “letting go”. The partner to the Lung is the Large Intestine so you can see why this physically and metaphorically makes sense.

Through strengthening our Lung during this time of year, our emotional body will be more equipped to handle grief, sadness, melancholy and whatever comes our way. It will be able to purge and let go of what is not serving us, although those transitions are indeed challenging, we have to persevere and keep going with our immunity intact.

For herbal support, look to the following tinctures:
📍Lung Defense to strengthen and support Lung function.
📍Allergy Defense helps to breathe naturally and unblock nasal passages, and issues/ sinus discomfort due to wind and pollen.
📍Change of Season helps the transition of seasons and symptoms like seasonal allergies.

How can we further support the Lung?

- Rub on point LI-4 to help emotions, bowel movements, skin health, and Lungs. It can further help to “let go”. This point is located between the thumb and index finger, rubbing in that area helps the whole body!
- Incorporate foods like honey, garlic, scallions, lily bulbs, pears and red dates into your daily rotation.
- If you have been worrying, meditate daily and journal to express your emotions and realize them.
- If you feel as though you have suppressed grief, cry in a safe space in order to release it.
- Let go! Let go of clutter in all areas of your life: relationships, objects, tasks, obligations, environments!
- If you are constipated, use my Constipation Rescue and or Magesium caps. If you are constipated you are holding on to what no longer needs to be inside of you on an emotional level as well.

Wind and the Liver = arthritis, migraines, dizziness, eczema, cold, flu and allergies.

🌬️ comment RELIEF and I will send you the herbal formulas to help release the internal wind and make your body less susceptible to it.

Wind initially manifests in the top of the body, especially the face, skin and sweat glands and Lungs. When the body is invaded from outside, its defensive capabilities are weakened, causing an imbalance in the opening and the closing of the pores in the entire body, leading to the invasion of other infectious agents. This can lead to headaches, nasal obstruction, painful and itching throat, facial edema, abnormal aversion to wind, and perspiration.

Wind is not only external, but can be generated internally from a body overtaxed with inflammation or heat. “Burning the candle on both ends” creates wind. Think of working a stressful job and then engaging in vigorous physical exercise. This depletes one’s Yin energy and creates dryness and heat which leads to internal wind. Too much heat in the body creates wind. Severe emotional stress can result in internal wind in the form of high blood pressure. When heat and wind are severe, this can manifest as a stroke.

Tips
- Practice physical and emotional flexibility, don’t over-exercise, rest in the evenings
- Eat a diet rich in omega 3s, warm foods, breakfast, supplement with magnesium and zinc
- Dress warmly during seasonal transitions like a silk scarf around the neck, have the legs and ankles covered, wear a hat if needed, too.

08/29/2025

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body is often seen as a reflection of nature. Just like a tree needs healthy roots and rich soil to grow strong and upright, our body relies on a stable digestive foundation to thrive.

The Intestines, as the roots, are where we absorb and process the nutrients that keep us grounded and vital. If the roots are weak, meaning poor elimination or absorption, the entire “tree” (your body) begins to weaken.

The Spleen and Stomach, as the soil, provide the nourishment and stability needed for growth. In Chinese medicine, these organs are central to digestion; they transform food into Qi and Blood and then transport it. If the soil is depleted, dry, or damp, the roots can’t draw in what they need.

🤎 Comment RESCUE and I will send you a link to my 🔅 Spleen Rescue+ tincture which supports sleep, anxiety, concentration and digestion and my new tincture 🔅 Liver-Spleen Harmony reconnects the interworking of the emotional and physical connection of our digestive system and emotions.
