In Chinese medicine, there is a quiet truth: we are not meant to wait for illness. “To treat disease after it has appeared is like digging a well when one is thirsty,” and “the superior physician treats disease before it arises.” Healing was never meant to be reactive— it is something we live daily, in the way we nourish ourselves, the way we rest, and the way we process what we feel.

By the time symptoms appear, the body has already been speaking for some time. This is your invitation to listen sooner, to support your body before it asks louder, to move stagnation before it settles, and to nourish what is already working so it can continue to support you. This is the art of prevention— this is where true healing begins

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, your “element” isn’t just one fixed label, it’s a pattern. We all contain Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, but usually one or two are more dominant based on your constitution, lifestyle, and current imbalances. Think of it less like a category… and more like your body’s natural tendency.

🪾Comment WOOD and I will send you the formula which best supports your Liver and the one that can drain toxicity from it, to make you clear.

Wood Element (Liver + Gallbladder Energy). Those with a dominant Wood constitution often have:• A tall, slender, or athletic frame
• Strong tendons and ligaments
• A natural sense of flexibility and movement
• A posture that feels upright, forward-moving

When Wood is not flowing freely, you may see:

• Tight neck, shoulders, or jaw
• PMS or breast tenderness
• Digestive disruption (Liver overacting on Spleen)
• Headaches or eye strain
• Mood swings or emotional reactivity
Wood thrives on movement, expression, and space. To stay balanced:

• Move your body daily (walking, stretching, twisting)
• Eat warm, cooked foods to support digestion• Avoid alcohol, stimulants, excess rich-tasting foods like BBQ, fried, etc
• Avoid excessive constraint— physically and emotionally
• Express emotions rather than suppress them
• Spend time in nature, especially greenery

When Heat is created within, it rises to the surface, revealing itself through the face. In Chinese medicine, the face is a map of the organ systems, each system expresses itself through its sensory opening, quietly showing you what is happening beneath.

In TCM, the Spleen and Stomach are the center of digestion, but they are also deeply affected by our emotional world. Worry, rumination, and mental overactivity weaken the Spleen, making it harder to break down food, absorb nutrients, and create energy and Blood. Did you know this is one of the root causes of low or decreased libido?

On the other hand, the Liver— the organ that keeps Qi flowing smoothly— reacts to stress, frustration, irritability, and emotional stagnation. When the Liver is tight, it attacks the Stomach and Spleen, leading to bloating, nausea, cravings, fatigue, or digestive upset.

Comment BOOST and I will send you a link to my Liver-Spleen Harmony tincture.

🌀 Liver-Spleen Harmony is a formula which harmonizes both the Liver and Spleen, regulates Qi, and nourishes Blood. They ease emotional imbalance (irritability, low mood, restlessness), relieve physical discomfort (abdominal fullness, cold extremities with interior heat, constipation, menstrual pain), and support healthy libido and vitality by restoring smooth Qi flow and recharging the body’s core energy.

How can we nourish our mind and our digestion to increase our libido from the root cause?

• Take your meals seriously: meals are important times of the day and food should not be mixed with work, reading, or watching television.
• Avoid snacking/ overeating: overeating results in an overworked Spleen and food stagnation. The digestion does not have sufficient time to empty the Stomach before your next meal, causing you to feel bloated and fatigued.
• Don’t speak or think negatively while eating: engaging in gossip or negative talk sours your mind and your food. Notice if you are upset it’s hard to eat?
• Chew well!: Chewing your food thoroughly reduces the workload for your digestive system and food gets absorbed more easily. This also allows a longer time for your meals, letting you realize the feeling of fullness and prevent overeating.
• Avoid cold or chilled beverages: too much “cold” lowers the digestive temperature and the body needs to use more Qi to warm it up before it gets digested.
