NYC HAS GOTTEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE !!
- AUGUST 11, 2020
My eerie bus trip into Manhattan ...August 11, 2020 .... The Pandemic has spread an incredible amount of fear. You can feel the fear in the air. In the streets, everyone is wearing Masks. Many businesses haven't survived ... and shuttered their doors for good.
In the Port Authority Bus Terminal, several bus lines into the city (especially those coming in from other states) have closed down again offering NO SERVICE (on August 7th). The bus that I took in, has again, severely limited its schedule down to a small handful of buses. If I missed the 6PM return bus, or it was too full, I was stranded.
It was close to 90 and humid in the city yesterday. I ate in the Madison Square park waiting for my appointment because most restaurants had no seating. I visited my former hypnosis office building on 36th Street, the doorman said they were at 50 percent capacity. Tenants and businesses were fleeing. I heard that everywhere ... People were leaving NYC ... and who could blame them. I spent 98 percent of my life in NYC. Never thought about leaving, until a slumlord made living conditions unliveable. I regretted being forced to leave .. Sometimes you have to thank God for what you thought were the worst events in your life, actually being gifts in disguise ...
Oh Well, for those who don't remember or weren't born in the pre-Guiliani days, when NYC's streets were dirty and the crime was real, now you're going to get a chance.
Bloomberg helped NYC become a tourist mecca ... Guiliani swept the streets ... In a few months, we'll soon see what it's become ... but it's not the great city I grew up in, and that is really sad..
