What is somatic yoga?
Somatic yoga is a blend of traditional yoga + somatic movement.
It shifts the emphasis from simply striking the "right" pose toward tuning into what the body feels. It involves turning off the thinking mind and turning the volume up on felt sensation in order to express unwanted emotions, resolve trauma and get in tune with your own body on a deeper level.
This approach is trauma-informed: it highlights nervous-system regulation, freeing habitual holding or tension patterns in the body, and building body awareness.
