Anyone else feeling the absolute intensity of this early summertime?? 🔥 According to Chinese Medicine we are in the early summer season (summer is broken up into two seasons - early & late), the element of FIRE and are at peak Yang ~ this corresponds to the frequency and vibration of the heart, small intestine, and the triple warmer meridians and organ systems. This season corresponds to our hearts!! In qigong practice we utilize movements and breath to tonify, strengthen and nourish these pathways and we call upon the element of water too cool and balance an overly fiery constitution. If you are feeling overly anxious, manic, or stressed, try the tool of a cooling water breath – breathing in through the nose slowly, and exhaling out the mouth. Allow the exhale to be twice as long as the inhale. Pair this with some gentle forward folds 💦 When the energy of the heart and small intestine meridians are running sufficiently we feel peaceful and joyful! Let me know how you do ❤️
